I went in for the first time the other day and found a few wines that have been on my family's list for a while. The clerk didn't seem as educated as they are at Gold Rush, though. He relied heavily on the "I don't recognize that bottle technique" of helping rather than looking things up or knowing what kind of varieties there are. But he wasn't rude or unwilling to help. He searched with us and found things he knew while we found things that we came across.

3/28/25 update: Google refuses to accept my photos showing they’re closed and update them as temporarily closed here… they don’t even have doors anymore while they renovate. Don’t go here til May cause they’re CLOSED Google and calling the store both say it’s open but there’s a sign saying they’re closed for remodeling and will be open in mid May… wish they’d updated everything before we drove all the way here

Reviewed as a regular. Great store selection for spirits and wine with friendly staff. Small issue I had was that they may not have somewhat specific stuff like the Glenmorangie Signet, but I know this isn't the store for that despite the rare collection they hold. They do have (but rarely) inventory troubles (missing listed products) with a very few that I've experienced. Overall, it's a solid place for a wide selection range of alcohol especially for the mead, since not many stores carry a variety.

There are plenty of liquor stores in Anchorage, but the Brown Jug Warehouse is known for having the biggest and best selection of beers, wines, and liquor. My wife and I bought all our alcohol for our wedding in one stop. The employees not only located all the varieties of wine and beer, but they also had them ready for pickup. We had a discount for buying in bulk, so that money went towards the honeymoon. If you're planning a party call ahead and you'll save time and money.
