6 month update: I’ve been using the products recommended by Katrina during my visit and my skin is having a really wonderful response. Especially: the mineral sunscreen has been serving me well in the summer sun. Stays on flawlessly for a couple of hours of coverage. High-end and exceptionally efficacious skin care experience. Well worth the cost. After spending two days getting some vitamin D in the glorious Seattle sunshine, I realized that my PNW-conditioned skin was in need of some support. Luckily, I had a girlfriend’s recommendation for Cake Skincare in Queen Anne (the original location; they have another in Cap Hill). I wanted to see if the experience lived up to the hype. They were booked out during the weekdays until the next month (bummer for me but a good sign) but there happened to be a slot on Mother’s Day, so I jumped in. Best decision I decided to go with a custom facial and a practical Brazilian wax since it is bikini season. Turns out it was the founder and owner, a.k.a. lead aesthetician of Cake, Katrina, that treated me. She was extraordinarily skillful with the waxing…and it matters when you’re getting a Brazilian. Then we talked over my skin care concerns and Katrina proceeded to create an exceptional facial treatment that was customized for the particular needs of my skin. It was extraordinary to feel what my skin felt like during the treatment, and then to see it glowing, and dewy, and so beautifully calm after she was done. Skillful and knowledgeable are understatements. Having been in skincare sales for several years, I recognized the amazing efficacy and value of the products she selected for me. I made the decision to invest in several of the reasonably priced products that she recommended, including a toner ($45), serum, the moisturizer, eye cream ($50) and tinted SPF ($55) — all in the highly effective algae-based Le Mieux line. (Their products can be ordered via Cake online.) I left an hour and half later feeling like a new woman, ready for any beach wear, and prepared with a skincare regiment for the coming summer months. The experience definitely matched the hype. Coming down the stairs and leaving the venue I realized: I wil feel excited every time I return here now, because of what I knew I could anticipate. A pretty amazing clarity. While this is not an affordable as a monthly visit for me, I hope to make it a regular tradition at the change of each season. I suspect Katrina’s experience and knowledge will be invaluable in helping me shape a protective skin care regimen as each season comes. Highly recommend planning ahead and reserved in advance.

UPDATE: I am beyond SPEECHLESS with the facial I got with Carney. This has to be one of the best facials I ever had. Carney was so detailed and gentle throughout the whole process. She also gives me the best and honest tips for skincare recommendations. Anyone who is thinking of booking with Cake skincare - do it now! Don’t even give it a second thought. It is definitely worth it! I am so glad I was able to find CAKE Skincare. My experience with them thus far, has been nothing but excellent. The quality of service and work they provide has really left me at awe. I had my first sugaring appointment with Carney and she made me feel so comfortable. I barely had any pain and the session was seamless. I can't wait to have my scheduled facial with her! Will definitely recommend CAKE to anyone looking for their go-to skincare salon.

Fave! I used to go to Ingrid until they left and I now see Carney. All my experiences here have been wonderful and I totally trust the staff. I started doing more facials before my wedding and Carney provided great tips on skincare for my skin type. It’s always a calm, relaxing experience that I look forward to when I come here. My skin has significantly improved since coming here and I know how to take better care of it at home too. I get a lot of compliments now on my skin - how clear and soft it is. I don’t really get breakouts anymore either. Carney also does my brows and is good at giving them some shape but keeping them natural, versus angular thin brows.

I've had my eyebrows shaped and tinted at Cake Skincare for more than a decade, ever since I moved to the Seattle area, and I wouldn't go anywhere else for eyebrow services. The owner, Katrina, delivers top-notch customer service, going the extra mile to put her clients first. She has built an extremely loyal customer base over the years due to her skill, knowledge and caring. Katrina and Kelly give me lovely eyebrows, and I'm confident that the other Cake aestheticians would do the same for me if Katrina or Kelly weren't available. And both the Queen Anne and Capitol Hill salons are inviting and comfortable. Give it a try; you'll be glad you did.
