⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Carl’s Car Wash absolutely nailed it. From start to finish, the customer service was top-tier. J.C. was the technician who took care of me, and wow knowledgeable, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful. He didn’t just do the job; he gave solid suggestions and advice and made sure everything was done right. You can tell he actually cares. Aston (I believe it’s spelled like Aston Martin) was also incredibly welcoming and made checkout quick and easy. Super smooth experience, no confusion, no rushing, just good service. Then Whitney came by afterward to check in, asked how everything went, and even gave me a card for a free car wash. She was warm, personable, and memorable. When I asked her name, she joked, “I’m Whitney, but I don’t have any talent.” I completely disagree. Great customer service is a talent and she has it. Overall, every single person I interacted with was helpful, professional, and kind. Carl’s Car Wash isn’t just about washing cars or oil changes, it’s about how they treat people. And they do that exceptionally well. Highly recommend. Go check them
Did not have oil filter in stock, even though I told them the vehicle and engine type when booking the appointment. Also failed my vehicle on state inspection for something that wasn’t actually needing replacement, and attempted to price gouge me for the repair. Took vehicle to regular car dealership and confirmed state inspection passed, and nothing wrong with vehicle. Spoke with management(Zack and Mike) to try and rectify these issues and instead of trying to come to a solution recommended I speak to the state police. Editing to respond to the comically unprofessional response from the company: At no point was I “walking around the shop complaining to others” nor am I “crying about it online,” as alleged. Upon returning to the property, I remained in my vehicle and respectfully requested to speak with the service and oil-change managers. At no time did I raise my voice or act unprofessionally; I conducted myself appropriately throughout the interaction—unlike the employees who addressed me, and later my wife. My intention in returning was simply to resolve concerns regarding an inadequate inspection and an unsuccessful attempt to complete a pre-scheduled oil change. This was a genuine, good-faith effort to correct the situation, that was not met with any accountability. Additionally, it is ironic you chose to degrade your customers who use their right to post reviews of their experiences instead of responding to 1:1 emails sent. It is very telling that management appears to have chosen to reinforce an inaccurate narrative that has repeatedly been disproved rather than address the issue. I find it disappointing and perplexing that Carl’s Wash stands for treating a military member in uniform in such a manner, especially considering the Evory familiy (original founders of carls wash) has a distinguished history of military service, as well as the large military presence in the Hampton Roads area. To recommend we waste community resources and tax payer dollars bringing a State Police Officer in to right your wrong is even more baffling. Unfortunately, it seems that this business is incapable and unwilling to engage in reasonable dialogue to resolve legitimate concerns.
I took my car in for state inspection September 2025. They put a rejection sticker on it. They told me my suspension was bad and ball joints were broken. I was so upset and scared to drive my car. I don’t drive my car for a week waiting for appointment at Hyundai Service Center. It was very inconvenient for me to figure out how to get to work and back. Hyundai calls me after dropping it off and they tell me NOTHING IS WRONG at all with my car. Carl’s was trying to take advantage of me and trying to get 1,700.00 dollars out of me. I called them and he said oh it’s 2 different places looking at your car….like Hyundai isn’t qualified to tell me if something is wrong. I’m pretty sure if suspension and ball joints were broken they would tell me bc they get paid to fix it. Edit: Okay I apologize….control arm bushings. Either way, there is nothing wrong with my car. I will never return to your shop. I don’t need you to show me anything. Hyundai service center sent me multiple clear videos showing me underneath my car. You putting because there is a warranty…? Does that mean that don’t care and would allow me to drive a vehicle that is unsafe?? I don’t think so. They get paid to work on vehicles no matter if there is a warrant involved. Trying to say that a place of establishment would not work or care because of that is very alarming. Do you do that at your shop because why would you even put that? Thanks for your response it was super helpful.
I can’t say enough good things about Carl’s. After months of dealing with another shop that just kept guessing and replacing parts, I was told the only option left was to replace my entire engine. I was so discouraged and honestly thought I bought a lemon. Then I brought my truck to Carl’s. Right away, it felt different. They actually diagnosed the problem instead of just throwing parts at it. They found the real issue, explained everything in a way I could understand, and even pointed out some leaks that definitely needed attention. No pressure, just straightforward honesty. They fixed what needed to be fixed, and now my truck drives smoother than it ever has since I bought it. Compared to my old experience, Carl’s was like a breath of fresh air. If you’re looking for a place that actually knows what they’re doing and cares about getting it right, this is it.
Just had to run my vehicle through the wash, twice. And unfortunately it still didn’t get clean. I’ll now have to go elsewhere to get my car cleaned. Giving 3 stars because the cashier and the gentleman before entering the wash were really nice and helpful.
