Went on a Saturday morning and was able to do a half hour sit in silence in the main hall. Beautiful property and all the people working and volunteering there were super lovely and kind. The WALK For PEACE monks come through there and will be there around Tet. Feb 14th or so! I hope to make it. Great Dharma place and atmosphere.
I went yesterday to meditate and I sat outside because the temple doors were close. I sat in the garden when I spotted a large black dog a mastiff, I sat there without moving the dog approached a growled. I didn't move like a statue waiting for the dog to leave, as soon as it went on the building temple I sped out of there. Not sure if the dog lived there but It could be dangerous if someone elderly comes in and that dog is loose around.
A beautifully landscaped pagoda / temple. Lots of Vietnamese visitors during Tet. The Buddhist practitioners also did a great job decorating the temple during Lunar New Year! There is a food fair in the back, flower market, and daily chanting services during the New Year Holiday (Lunar, not Western). Con xin chúc quý Chùa an khang thịnh vượng!
Such a beautiful location. My first time coming to this Vietnamese temple during their Spring Blossom Chinese New Year festival and I'm so glad I came. It's such a picturesque location with so many beautiful landscapes. There's even a small little waterfall area which I wish I got a picture of. Definitely worth coming to visit a unique Asian cultural experience.
You don't have to be a member to attend the dharmas offered on Sundays, but I do recommend being open minded, spiritual, and RESPECTFUL!!! 🕉🕉🕉They have translators for women and men, and you will be taken aback by the serene beauty and energy this Dao offers from the minute you pull in!! We felt very welcome and apart of from the moment we entered! In the gardens, you get a chance to meet different species of nature at are not accustomed to here in Texas, and they're are several great photo ops as well! 📸📸📸 You can even call ahead to ask for a personal tour and history briefing of Buddhism.
