There is a large pond at the back of the grounds with stairs leading down to a dock in the water. There is a gate protecting entry to the pond and behind it are two geese. Are they trapped? Why don't they just fly out. They were screaming at me quite loud. Or maybe they are guarding the pond so no one could get in
Calm Thai Temple. Clean and well maintained. Most of the people doesn't speak English. They told some visitors created problems in the temple in the past. Because of that they faced some issues. I hope that everything get sort out soon.
Such a beautiful, sacred, temple to visit. My family helped build certain parts of this space. I'm not from the state, but when I visited my family brought me to visit my granny's ashes that are kept here. You feel such a sense of peace & calm when you are here...no one & nothing can bother you or hurt you. Wish I could go all the time.
And I thought there were only Republicans in Texas! As I came through the gate, I felt a sense of calmness enter me. The sound of the bells elevated that feeling. I was very surprised to see a monk blowing leaves around with a gas powered blower.
You can actually park and take a walk around the Buddhist temples. The monks themselves can occasionally be seen attending to their tasks and are willingly to chat with you if you have any questions. It's actually a neat small place to walk around and relax for a bit.
