Adriana Durastanti, DVM was my saving grace! She is absolutely fantastic and incorporated my funny remarks about my dog into the final overview, lol, loved every second of it. She really listened and provided me with advice/info to find affordable dental services etc.The entire staff treated Marv like the wimpy cute baby that he is..thank you all so much! P.S. I am absolutely thrilled to write this review. While the veterinary care is wonderful on its own, what truly sets this place apart is the absolutely incredible staff. From the moment I arrived, every single team member I encountered was genuinely welcoming, professional, and remarkably attentive. It wasn't just standard good service; they consistently went above and beyond to make sure that each patient, animal and human alike, was incredibly well taken care of. They are truly empathetic. It’s not one of those places that forces you to pay upfront if you don't have it; they work out payment arrangements. The staff, like I said, are amazing. They took very good care of my dog Capone on his last day, until he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I would highly recommend this place to anyone for veterinary care.
Mainly reviewing to add that THE DOOR MAY BE LOCKED, BUT THEY'RE NOT CLOSED (on Monday evenings). I almost penned an angry email asking if the posted hours were incorrect, but it turns out that there is another business that shares the place that just decides to lock the door... I'm not sure how this works, as I'm relatively sure doors are supposed to stay open during business hours (but I don't think CCVH can do anything about this, unfortunately) I like the convenience of having the vet close to home. Most of the times I can get a sick pet appointment within a day or two, however, sometimes they get busy and won't have availability for a couple days or a week. The care my pets have gotten has always been good, the vets have patiently answered my questions as thoroughly as they can, and go through possible care options when called for. I'll miss Arrrrnold, but looking forward to seeing/meeting Catty Boh 😊
Wonderful Customer Service, High Quality Care, And Arnold is the BEST Door Greeter I switched to from my prior vet to Charm City about 2 or 3 years to follow Charm City's office manager when she resigned from her position at my prior vet and I have no regrets. Every member of the team is caring and professional over the phone and in the clinic. They always respond quickly to emails and voicemails and I love how they email the exam report after each appointment. Charm City is top notch and the clinic is in pristine condition compared to our prior vet, I greatly appreciate that they have a room solely for cats. At my prior vet, I would regularly wait 30-45 to be taken back to the room even though I had an appointment. I don't think I've waited more than 5 minutes for a room at Charm City. The vets are extremely knowledgeable and thorough and make a point of ensuring that all of my questions have been answered before I leave. The vets at Charm City are about quality over quantity. Not once have I felt as though the appointment was rushed or that my cats were "just a number." When the clinic has recommended procedures and blood work, they have always given me an estimate before the procedure. I have not had difficulty getting appointments and I am incredibly appreciative that they block off time for "sick" animal appointments.
My experience with Charm City Vet was not only frustrating, but concerning enough that I feel obligated to share—and to strongly caution other pet owners. My dog’s symptoms took a serious turn and there was zero sense of urgency from the clinic. Repeated phone calls went unanswered, and when one staff member finally called me, I was met with blame and hostility instead of the support and compassion any pet owner deserves. The staff was unprofessional and dismissive. Financial transparency is another major issue. I was hit with multiple unexpected several hundred dollars in charges prior to the procedures being done—with little explanation for those procedures and what to expect financially. That level of opacity is completely unacceptable and unlike any reputable vet I’ve encountered. I had been warned by others about negative experiences at this clinic, and I regret not listening. If you’re looking for responsible, compassionate, and professional veterinary care, I cannot in good conscience recommend Charm City Veterinary Hospital. Editing to add: I want to acknowledge that the manager later reached out to me directly. She handled the situation professionally and thoroughly—reviewing our communications and recorded phone calls, and taking appropriate internal steps to address the behavior I experienced. She was respectful and responsive throughout our interaction, and I appreciate her effort to follow through and improve the situation. While I still have reservations based on my original experience, I believe it’s fair to acknowledge the steps the clinic took afterward to make things right.
