I visited the Nephrology and Urology dept for a feline urinary issue (FIC). Though I only actually had one visit, the team has provided email support for months after. Nothing extensive like follow exams, but continual communication regarding updates, referrals, medication management, etc. which I am grateful as many practices seem to require exams to make further decisions. The prices are reasonable for a group of specialists, so I can't complain. The actual location has some very unfavorable parking, but the internal facility is fine. It's not the most convenient place to go, being in downtown DC but is central to many locations. While I don't hope to have to visit again, I'll definitely be open to it! They also offer telemedicine.

We are so thankful for Friendship. We were referred here by Apex Vets when our cat had sudden swelling. We brought her in through the Urgent Care and Dr. Roth was super communicative and determined to figure out next steps. She was able to get the Nephrology dept told look at our cat. They hospitalized her for 2 days and took great care of her. All the techs have been so sweet and we felt so comfortable knowing she was under their care. Ultimately, Dr. Fitzgerald diagnosed her with a rare protein-loss disorder. Dr. Fitzgerald’s expertise has saved our girl and we are lucky to have the best care . Thank you!

Friendship Heights Animal Hospital has been incredible for our dog, Oscar. He had cancer surgery and a lipoma removed from his rear leg in September, and the entire team took care of him with so much skill, compassion, and genuine kindness. When he later developed an infection (entirely our fault for using the wrong size cone), they were amazing every step of the way—responsive, reassuring, and always willing to see him immediately whenever he had a setback. You can tell everyone there truly loves what they do and cares about the animals as if they were their own. We chose Friendship Heights based on their outstanding reviews and even though we were driving 45 minutes to an hour from Alexandria each way, we would make that exact same choice again without hesitation. Oscar is doing great now, and we are so grateful to the entire team for getting him through all of this. If you’re looking for a place where your pet will be treated with expertise and heart, this is it.

I took my cat here after a serious accident, and the care she received was excellent. The critical care doctor was thorough and kept me updated with every change in my cat’s condition. The surgeon and the entire medical team were professional, honest, and clearly focused on what was best for my cat’s health. They did not try to add unnecessary procedures or charges. Everything they recommended was based on medical need only. Their priority was truly the my cat’s well-being and recovery. So the final statement was way less than what I expected to be! I highly recommend this hospital. They are skilled, trustworthy doctors who genuinely care about the patient they treat.

Everyone I’ve encountered at this Veterinary Hospital has been incredibly kind and helpful. I have brought my cat into both the Emergency and Neurology departments, complete with an overnight stay. My 11 year old cat was diagnosed with two brain tumors, and while the news is terrible the team delivered it with an incredible amount of empathy and sensitivity. He hates the vet, but the care that he has gotten has been great. Dr. Haley has taken so much time and care on his case and always ensures my questions are answered. Highly recommend, this is some of the best vet care I’ve ever received!
