Front staff need better ways to communicate. I found the woman to be very snappy, very rude when asking simple questions. When I’d ask a question took them 10+ minutes to get the lane fixed… shoes I had at first were dirty
you want to go home smelling like heavy, deep-fried food, then this is the place to go. Other than that… not great. Our lanes kept breaking, and each time it took at least 10 minutes for staff to fix them. At the very end, our friends’ lane broke too — and no one ever came. Their time just ran out. I’m really disappointed. I understand they were busy, but there was zero communication. Every time we called for help, we just waited and waited. At one point I went to tell the attendant that the lane was broken and that we ended up fixing it ourselves because it was eating up our paid time. She told us we shouldn’t have fixed it… but we wouldn’t have had to if someone came sooner. Now I’m on my way home smelling like a giant deep fryer. Too bad. The only reason it’s getting two stars is because the last time I reserved lanes here, I actually had a decent experience. I’ve been coming to Chateau forever and never had an experience like this.
It was good experience. Front end staff can be more polite. Kindness and politeness doesn’t cost anything. Bowling experience was also nice but lane got stuck many times which reduced our time by 10 mins. We pay for whole 60 mins so we expect such service. Please look upon the faults in the lanes and staff, will be coming next time and if we find the same problem then I would need to find another place for bowling.
Always have a great experience at Chateau Lanes. Lots of recreational leagues to join if you are interested. Staff have always been friendly and helpful. Some fantastic canteen style food and the ceasers are fantastic. One of the few 10 bin bowling lanes remaining. Keep up the great work!
VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE: We ordered popcorn, they let us know that the popcorn would take 20 mins to be ready and they would deliver it to our lane once ready. After 30 mins we went up to the trainee working and asked if the popcorn was ready, she said not yet. 10 mins later our lane had to be reset for the 3rd time due to technical issues. I noticed the supervisor was there- who originally took our order for the popcorn who gave us the 20 mins time line. I asked if our popcorn was ready yet and she said “It’s popping” with disrespectful attitude- as if it was normal to wait 40mins for popcorn? 10 more mins went by, and we noticed there was still no popcorn in the machine, we requested a refund from the trainee (who was super nice) she had to get the supervisor (Kiera) to process the refund, the original payment was made on debit. She said they can’t process a refund via debit and gave us cash- although shorted us $0.35 due to their “debit processing fee” I didn’t think this was professional way to go about this- As I was now losing money over this. She complied by giving me the $0.35 but threw the money on the counter and walked away. No apologies, nothing. The sweet trainee did bring us popcorn for free once it was eventually ready, which was the proper way to handle this- maybe the trainee should be the supervisor as she seemed to be the only one working anyways. Not to mention the lack of cleanliness throughout the facility: -bandaids in the bowling balls -the lane we were provided to use was littered with crumbs and empty plastic water bottles -kitchen was a disgusting disaster, cheese left out in the open, crumbs on the cutting board, the grill was covered in charred food. It’s understandable if food takes time, but the unprofessional attitude from management is unacceptable. It’s free to be kind to someone, and as someone who has worked in customer service, I truly believe the way we were treated was completely unprofessional. We left frustrated and won’t be coming back.
