Chesnut Bakery is an absolute delight! Genuinely too many yummy choices😋We grabbed a cosy spot right by the counter in their Covent Garden branch so got front row seats of the hordes of people coming in and out🥰 We were OBSESSED with the filled croissant - think it was a croque monsieur one (mega cheesy!!). The cinnamon swirl was spot on too👌🏻
Loved this coffee shop. The mocha and coffee were amazing, rich and well balanced. The pastry selection was impressive, so many options and everything we tried was fresh and delicious. The ambiance was warm and inviting, a great place to sit, relax, and enjoy your drink. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
I really wanted to like this place, as the food itself was genuinely good, but unfortunately the overall experience was let down badly by the service and atmosphere. We had to queue outside in very cold weather for around 15 minutes, with no communication at all from staff. No indication of waiting time, no explanation of what was happening, and no information about menu availability. A simple update or acknowledgment would have made a big difference. Once seated, things didn’t improve. After moving tables, it took nearly 20 minutes just to receive menus, and only after I went to ask someone. We were then informed that all the main clay-oven dishes (the main reason we came) were unavailable, along with many of the sandwiches. The menu was essentially reduced to all-day breakfast and a few small plates. We ordered marinated mixed olives, olive hummus, and feta & olive dip. It then took around 40 minutes for these three small starters to arrive. We also ordered still water, which never arrived, yet we were still charged for it on the bill (only noticed after paying). To be fair, the food quality was good: 1. The olive hummus was very nice 2. The marinated olives were good 3. The feta dip was tasty 4. The bread was excellent However, the bread portion was very small for the dips (only two slices), though we did receive more after asking. Throughout the meal, no one checked on us at all. When we wanted hot drinks and dessert, I had to get up again to ask for service. We ordered a “tiramisu” for dessert, it was pleasant as a pastry with cream, but it really wasn’t a tiramisu in any meaningful sense. To make matters worse, the toilets were filthy and genuinely unpleasant, which is unacceptable for a place like this. We were sitting upstairs, and it felt like the staff simply did not care at all, regardless of whether it was busy or not. We arrived after 2:30pm, so this wasn’t peak rush time. In summary: ✔️ Good food quality ❌ Very poor service ❌ Weak atmosphere ❌ Lack of communication and attention I wouldn’t recommend this place unless service standards, cleanliness, and overall organisation improve significantly. It has potential, but at the moment the experience doesn’t match the product.
I had an incredible experience at Chestnut Bakery on Floral Street London! The pastrami sandwich was absolutely delicious — perfectly balanced flavours and so satisfying — and the pistachio cake was out of this world, all topped with a delicious mocha. A special shoutout to Obay, who was super friendly and helpful in recommending what to try. Everything from the food to the service was excellent. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for amazing food and a great atmosphere! Will definitely come back soon with friends! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wonderful assortment of pastries but the ones we ordered were just alright, nothing mindblowing. A little too sweet for our liking. Soft serve with honey toast was an interesting offer that we don’t see many in other cafes/bakeries so it was lovely. Wanted the vanilla flavour soft serve but it was sold out so I had the chocolate one which was decent. The honey toast that came with it was a little too sweet and dry though. It’s a lovely place with great vibes for a coffee with a friend, to rest your legs after some shopping in central London but not specifically be there for the baked goods. Menu offers breakfast/brunch type of food I have yet to try but I’ll probably skip that. Staff were extremely helpful and kind though. Made us feel really welcomed despite being so busy.

Artisanal bakes and cozy vibes in the heart of London.
