Have been wanting to learn ballroom (etc.) dancing for decades, but didn't want the "cookie cutter" feel I got from franchise/chains. Even though I've always considered myself a good dancer (having taken some tap and jazz as a boy and been in many musical "choruses" and swing choirs through college), I was fully aware that I *didn't* know about ballroom dancing was daunting. I had this vague idea of what the perfect balance would be like (in an instructor and studio) but after searching around, I was afraid my expectations were set too high (especially for my budget). Well ... I (we -- my partner and I) lucked out! After a lot of searching and reading reviews, I (we) decided to take a chance on the Columbus Dance Centre! It was absolutely the right choice! The perfect balance of patience (when I keep getting things wrong) and demanding (pushing me to do better). Both my partner and I were instantly at ease and have been making amazing progress since we started! Our goal (initially) was to learn enough to have fun on a cruise we will be taking soon ... and they adjusted to that goal without issue. But we have already decided that we want to continue lessons and get more serious about ballroom dancing after the cruise. The support for our goals has been amazing. They have exceeded all of my expectations and now I just look forward to getting better and becoming even more involved in ballroom dancing (actual dancing and social aspects ... possibly competition some day? Who knows!?)! I was so hesitant about taking the plunge (into ballroom dancing). The Columbus Dance Centre has exceeded my every expectation! I will never regret choosing them to help me realize my dream of learning ballroom dancing! Consummate professionals and incredibly flexible!

They have great instructors that are very detailed in making you a good dancer. I have greatly improved in my private lessons.

Last minute date night decision for our 34th Wedding Anniversary and it went great! Svetlana (hope I spelled that right), was amazing. Bad knees and she adjusted the dance instruction to that and also tailored it to our beginner skill level. She was VERY patient with us, which made it better. Thank you! Highly recommended!

M(22) I booked an hour long couples dance class to celebrate my partner and I’s 5 year anniversary. We had a great time! First we were asked what we’d like to learn, some songs that we’d like to dance to. After we shared ,we were suggested to learn rumba. This was a great suggestion as it was challenging, fun, and intimate. Music was tasteful and aided in keeping proper rhythm. Our instructor was very kind and patient, but was sure to tell you where you were making a mistake. I suggest to anyone who dances to be patient and kind to yourself because you will make silly mistakes but it’s all part of the fun of learning a new step. Laugh it off. Last suggestion is to bring water, low traction comfortable shoes, and clothes you can move easily in.

Our daughter is getting married and neither my husband nor I have any dance experience. So, we decided to take dance lessons to feel more confident on the dance floor. We are so happy we chose Columbus Dance Centre. Svetlana is a very talented and experienced dancer with years of experience. She was very patient with us, very thorough teaching us dance steps, and she choreographed a short routine for us! Again, we are very pleased with the Columbus Dance Centre and cannot express how thankful we are for Svetlana.
