Review Edition IMPORTANT: This institution (CMCB) is more than valuable in the community. The staff is friendly, professional and welcoming. Everyone has the same treatment, respect and importance in the institution. Teachers give themselves 💯 to the students. I LOVE ❤️ THIS INSTITUTION! A year after the above review (16 months ago), I would like to edit it (update) as below: CMCB is still valuable in the community, BUT with the staff changes, a lot of changes come with that. Like: -- staff is now careless and unwelcomed, -- Every group has a different treatment and services depend on your ethnicity, -- Respect is now goes to some group of people NOT to everyone, depend on your ethnicity and background. I AM SORRY TO SAY THAT, 16 months after my first review. I am not proud at all of the institution anymore and would like CMCB to go back to what it was three, two years ago with the former staff.
What a great place. I want to support someone who gives their time to it. Trumpet or Sax lessons for a music lover but who can’t play a not! Reply here and I’ll connect to with my cell or email. Thanks, DG
The teachers give more than 100% like other reviewers suggested. Unfortunately, the administration is far from ideal. They do not pay teachers on time and said that "At least 89 % of BPS students are victims or perpetrators (or both) of violence."
A hugely important institution in Boston. The generous musicians who work here do far more than lessons for kids. Read about all their work in public schools, their music therapy work, and other programs that help knit our city together. Also adult lessons!
CMCB (or the Music Center) is a gem of a Boston institution. Its warm, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere has nurtured our whole family over many years. My kids, both in high school now, started taking lessons at CMCB very early in elementary school after being introduced to the school through the Summer Arts program. They are now both wonderful musicians as a result. As a singer, I have performed there many times and my wife studied piano there as a adult student. The Music Center is easily accessible by car or by public transportation. Whether you're one year old or ninety, if you're interested in music lessons, I couldn't recommend it more highly. Take a look at their school programs and their music therapy programs as well!
