We worked with Darcie from Continental Caterers for our September 2025 wedding. The Pros: I want to start off by giving credit where it's due. Things ran really smoothly on the day of, despite a last minute location change within the venue due to unexpected rain. We appreciated that we were able to bring in our own cake and boba and they helped us set this up at no additional cost. In terms of the food quality, the appetizers we picked out all tasted pretty good, and the presentation was also great! They made sure to set aside some of everything separately for us since we came in later after photos. The Cons: After we signed the contract on February 13, Darcie told us that she would be in touch soon to start the planning process. At the end of April, we still had not gotten an initial reach-out, so I emailed her again to ask a couple questions about planning. She asked for some additional information to help answer the questions, which I replied to on April 29. I sent a followup email on May 6 asking for an update and then a more strongly worded email on May 14 asking for better communication when I didn't hear back over two weeks later. During the inquiry process, Darcie was extremely responsive over email, which was one of the reasons we chose to move forward, and it was incredibly discouraging to see this change after we were already locked in. Less than two months before the wedding date, I reached out again asking if there were any more action items needed from us. We were then asked if we needed linens for the tables - this in itself was somewhat concerning given that this caterer is a preferred vendor for our venue, so they should know that linens are required for almost all tables there (in fact, when I forwarded this question to our venue's event manager, she literally told us "Continental knows what tables require linen so they'll be able to guide you on that!"). The part that was most frustrating to me was that before signing the contract, I expressed concerns to Darcie about whether the proposal she sent us was comprehensive because I wanted to avoid having unexpected add-ons later. This was her reply: "There is nothing that I can see that would need to be added at this point except if you decided to get dessert from us (I have not added that as it's just a quote). If we did make any additions at this point, this would be entirely your choice and we would absolutely discuss cost beforehand!". When I expressed our concerns that this previous reassurance felt highly misleading, Darcie told us that her original statement was still true because linens for these tables are considered optional add-ons to their services and this addition is completely our choice. It felt like she completely missed the point that this is exactly what we were hoping to get guidance on when we first asked about what kind of add-ons might come up later on top of the existing proposal. As a vendor that has experience in the industry and also with our venue's requirements, it was our expectation that they would more proactively help us think through what we would need on the catering side of things. Wedding planning can be pretty stressful in itself, but working with Continental Caterers felt like it added a lot more unnecessary anxiety and frustration due to the inconsistent and confusing communication. Despite the wedding day itself going quite well, I would be hesitant to use this caterer again or recommend it to others.
We really enjoyed working with Continental for our wedding at Nestldown (Los Gatos, CA)! Brittney and team organized a wonderful tasting experience for us and our parents to select the wedding menu items. They were highly receptive to feedback after the tasting -- everything from changing garnishes to incorporating our own tomato soup recipe for the soup sippers. They also worked with us to source our favorite Josey Baker bread from The Mill in SF. The food at the wedding was AMAZING! We served it family-style so that everyone could choose from a variety of items. Our most favorite dish was the veggie galette, which we loved so much that we made it available to all guests, not just vegetarians. Many of our guests complimented the menu saying it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding!!! Thank you Continental team!
We used Continental Caterers for our wedding at Nestldown in Los Gatos. The food was amazing and all the guests agreed. We did the short rib and California sea bass. Brittney and Pauline were great with communication and helping in every way they could. The only critique I have is the bar service was a little slow even with the extra bartenders some guests waited 20-30 minutes for drinks. The guests and I (bride) were also unable to get a mixed cocktail or beer during the main course at dinner because they were moving the bar.
Continental Caterers provided brunch after our morning wedding minimony, and they absolutely knocked it out of the park! Our venue required us to choose from their short curated list of caterers, and I reached out to three of them. Continental Caterers was the only one to respond promptly and consistently, ask what types of foods we were envisioning, and then send a proposal that actually matched what we stated we wanted. Just from a communication standpoint alone, I knew that they were the ones we wanted to hire. Brittney was our contact, and from beginning to end, she was an absolute dream to work with. She was always so pleasant and professional, and she helped us narrow our menu down to a reasonable amount of food (we wanted to serve way too much lol). The morning of our wedding, we were incredibly pleased at how delicious everything was! We served breakfast burritos, several passed appetizers, pastries, donuts, and fruit, and had a hot chocolate bar as well as tea and coffee. We got so many unsolicited compliments on the food! Continental Caterers also provided the linens and signage for our food and beverages, which made our lives so much easier. I highly recommend them for your wedding or next event!
I attended a wedding in Villa Montalvo and the food was amazing. This was my favorite appetizer, fresh sashimi sushi garnished with an orange slice and green on top of a crispy tortilla. So fresh and Yum!
