Wow! Haven't been to Crate and Barrel forever and now I remember why...disappointing to say the least. Walked in, saw at least 4 sales associates who were actively talking to each other while they stood behind the register or walking by me without even a "hello" or a nod. I was actively looking for cookie cutters and finally found a few at the back rear corner of the store. I walked up to the register where a dark haired person was standing behind the counter, said "hello- can you ring me up please?". I got zero response from her, then a sweet lady named Connie came over to help. She was the only bright spot in an otherwise dismal experience. Will keep spending my money on housewares elsewhere.

I had an issue with a refund for 2 lamps I had purchased. The manager was on top of figuring out the issue. She kept me informed of the status of the refund and expressed true care and concern. I was refunded a few days later. She really cares about her customers and it shows. I forget her name unfortunately. She is an Asian woman I believe. Absolutely the best retail experience I’ve had.

Great experience with Francine. Horrible experience with the Crate and Barrel Visa card (managed by Imprint), which seems intentionally designed to harm customers.

STIFF STEAM CONTROL KNOB Breville Customer Service Fail After thoughtful consideration, and tons of research, I've decided to avoid risking my warranty by replacing the stiff steam control knob with an aftermarket handle. Moreover, I WILL NOT ship my machine away to Breville, for a potential 3 week absence, to address an issue that should have been identified at the factory during the quality control process. During a FRIENDLY call for warranty assistance a few days ago, the Breville rep repeatedly asked me about my descaling regimen; implying the stiff knob was probably related to the descaling process. I AM NOT happy that I had to go round and round with the customer service representative who was repeatedly: • deflecting my comments while I repeatedly insisted the knob has ALWAYS been stiff. Very very difficult to turn. I only realized this wasn't normal when 2 people I know, who purchased their identical machines within a few months of my purchase, were at my home for a coffee centric breakfast highlighting Steve’s Velvet Macchiato. They were both shocked at the stiffness of my knob; prompting my warranty repair call to Breville. • deflecting my comments while I repeatedly insisted I DID purchase my machine about 6 months ago • deflecting my comments while I repeatedly insisted I DID register my machine about 6 months ago • deflecting my comments while I repeatedly insisted I DID submit my purchase receipt to Breville about 6 months ago The rep repeatedly told me my machine was purchased more than 2 years ago and that I would have out-of-pocket costs associated with the repair. BALDERDASH! Now I'm wondering if someone erred in entering my serial number at Breville OR my machine was sold and returned to Crate and Barrel and previously purchased by someone else who registered it. Ugh! If that's the case I believe Breville should have caught that issue when I registered the machine last summer. I dug around and finally found my Crate and Barrel receipt from June 2025 and emailed it to the rep. The IDENTICAL receipt I already submitted when I originally registered the machine with Breville. Then she agreed to make return arrangements for the repair; telling me it would be 2 to 3 weeks before my machine would be returned. After receiving suggestions from the wonderful people on the Facebook user page for my model of Breville, I experimented with a couple of different external warranty-safe handles. I finally settled on a $20 product I discovered on Amazon. It's not perfect, but light years easier to work with than the terrible knob action native to my $689.60 Breville Barista Express Impress Espresso Machine. It is called: Comfort Handle for Breville Espresso Machine, Original Design | Non-Slip Snug for Steam Lever. If you have a stiff steam control knob, this might be the cat’s meow for you as well. All the Best! Steve… P.S. I discovered my issues with Breville Customer Support are consistent with those of other customers. Look at the final 4 screenshots I captured online during my due diligence. Shame on you Breville!
