I did not stay at the Culloden but had afternoon tea with some good friends for a close friends Hen Do. We were greeted on arrival by friendly staff who remembered our dietary requirements and seated at a well appointed table. The waiting staff were courteous and efficient; always topping up our tea or water. The afternoon tea selection was fantastic - as a veggie it's always great to see different things for a vegetarian afternoon tea! Would 100% recommend to anyone.

Your staff are wonderful and the general ambience is fine. It's a great pity your main restaurant was closed over Christmas and the ones on offer were fine but just for a Christmas experience not very elegant. Waiting for breakfast wasn't great either. The staff were great, it's just to truly be a five star you need more fine tuning. Ps you need more upgraded tea and coffee facilities in the room and a fridge mini bar would have been good also.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and the hotel is undoubtedly a lovely place. The setting is beautiful, the food was excellent, and the bar and waiting staff were genuinely outstanding — friendly, attentive, and a real credit to the hotel. That said, it didn’t quite feel like a true five-star experience, mainly due to a collection of small but noticeable details. The bathrooms, while clean, lacked the finish you would expect at this level, and the toiletries felt quite generic and inexpensive. At breakfast, the seating was very close together, which made it feel cramped, and used plates weren’t always cleared promptly. Small things like brown sauce being spooned out and spilled, and laptops sitting out at breakfast, took away from what should feel like a polished, premium experience. We also visited the Cultra Bar, which is associated with the hotel. On its own, it’s a lovely bar with a nice atmosphere, but it doesn’t align with the five-star image the hotel is aiming for. Unfortunately, that association slightly detracts from the overall perception of the hotel rather than enhancing it. In summary, this is a great hotel with excellent staff and food, and we really enjoyed our stay. With a bit more attention to detail and consistency, it could very easily reach true five-star standards — but for now, it sits comfortably at four.

Afternoon tea. Greeting service impeccable. Quickly seated and setting was amazing, decor beautiful. Choice of teas coffees excellent. Sandwiches a little dry at the edges, selection good for three, but the fourth (sliced ham and plain cheese) was very ordinary. Timing of delivery of warm scones was too fast so they cooled before we were ready for them. The feeling was “rushed” rather than relaxed. (The restaurant was as not busy) Pastries were festive but incredibly sugary. Asked for boxes which were delivered but not boxed by the hostess, not a five star service. Pricey and for this I would expect a London or New York experience.

We spend the weekend at the Culloden. The beautiful energy starts when you enter, the garden is beautiful, looked after with great care, and lovely statues that make a difference. The Hotel itself it's stunning, piano during lunch, before dinner... we have dinner at the Vespers restaurant, lovely, good food, staff attentive and kind. After dinner if you book a table at the bar, is a nice vibe to enjoy a good live music. We went to the gym and I can say it's a really really nice gym, well equipped, the pool , sauna and all the staff around there are kind. I truly recommend the experience there.
