I've been procrastinating writing this because I have so much to say but I'll try to be as concise as I can. I was not born with any musical talent whatsoever but it was always at the back of my mind that I wanted to learn how to dance. Over the years, I tried going to beginner drop-ins at other studios but even in beginner classes, I couldn't keep up, and would end up feeling overwhelmed and immediately give up. I just figured it wasn't for me. When I stopped playing soccer competitively, I wanted to find a hobby that would be easier on my body but would still get me out there moving and learning. Luckily that was when I found CD and it was right at the start of a new season so I was able to join a taster class with Brigs. It was the first time in my life that I found a dance class at a pace that I could keep up with, truly a class for absolute beginners like me. I had so much fun and everyone was so nice; it was scary dancing for the first time but people were encouraging and I never felt judged. I dragged my sister along to the next taster with me and told her if she joined the progressive, then I would too. I just performed in my 4th show weekend (8th show) and it's been such a wonderful journey. Both my siblings joined, as well as my brother's girlfriend and her sisters, and many more of my friends. I don't even need to try to convince people; usually once they come watch a show, they end up wanting to join because of how fun and electric it is. I'm proud of myself for moving up to level 2. CD's teachers are such awesome dancers and so inspiring. I never thought I'd be able to dance at this level (my goal when I first started was just to be able to remember choreo!) but thanks to their coaching, my siblings and I have come such a long way. The other thing I wanted to call out is the amazing community that CD has built. They call themselves a dance family and usually when I hear "family" it sounds so cheesy, but at CD, there's no other word that would be more suitable. I've met so many wonderful and inspirational people who are sure to be life long friends. I'm really introverted and so is my brother but the CD fam inspires us to socialize and leave the house 😂 lol Everyone is so welcoming and encouraging, every showcase, we all lose our voices from cheering so loud. To summarize: if you want to learn to dance or level up your dancing, to be inspired by amazing dancers, to take part in a showcase that is unrivaled, and be surrounded by the kindest, most encouraging people, then come join CD!! ✨
As someone brand new to dance, I have to say CD provides such a welcoming and amazing experience that made it super easy from just one workshop to keep coming back week after week. The 16-week progressive is a great format if you like to have something to build on and a target to aim for (and just a little bit of pressure). The instructors I have worked with so far have been fantastic and their fun personalities make it clear there is a great community and culture being fostered here, also evident through the dancers drawn to the studio. I just finished my Spring 2025 showcase with some awesome memories, and look forward to many more to come!
This season was my first-ever progressive with CD and definitely not the last 🥹 I’m endlessly grateful to the entire faculty, my incredible teacher Haru, and my wonderful L3 people for making it such an unforgettable experience. I didn’t just grow in technique and confidence, but I made some real friendships along the way. Couldn’t recommend it more 💖
I just completed my 1st progressive with CD and I couldn’t be more impressed! The faculty are incredibly talented, patient, and create such a fun, welcoming environment. The classes are challenging but accessible, and I’ve seen improvement in my skills. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced dancer, this studio offers something for everyone. Fellow dancers are passionate, welcoming, and kind. Highly recommend for anyone looking to learn, grow, and be a part of an amazing hip-hop community!
Truly one of the best dance communities out there! The owners, instructors, and team are all so welcoming, amazing at what they do, and have created something so special here. I’ve never really danced growing up, and always wanted to take adult lessons and was really nervous. CD has so many different levels - from beginner to crew, so there’s really a place for everyone. I’ve been with CD now for 3 years, and I plan to continue as long as I can! The show they put on at the end of each progressive is also always a highlight. It’s a crazy production, and level of execution is insane! I would HIGHLY recommend anyone who is looking to start dance, or have been dancing for years to join! You won’t regret it! ☺️
