First time taking a beginner bachata class with Nicole Gil here at Dancer University. I absolutely loved it. She's super welcoming and patient with everyone. And she teaches in such a fun and engaged way. The community she's created here is phenomenal, and she has the top dancers to teach here. In not just bachata, but also in Salsa, Kizomba, and Tango. I don't know too much about the Tango world, but the teachers she has for Bachata, Salsa, and Kizomba, they're literally the best dancers in the SoCal area. And some of them dance and teach internationally as well. She also brings in incredible artists from other parts of the world, especially Spain for bachata since that part of the world is leading the scene. If you want to start, their beginner classes are amazing. And if you are intermediate, this is also a great place to grow into an advanced dancer.

Love everything about DU, from the amazing instructors, class structure/content, community and management. I highly recommend the sensual bachata progressive series. I’ve done them all (Monday with Joe & Maria or Joe & Michelle, Tuesday with Joe and Nicole, Thursday with David & Michelle) and each has something to offer. Nicole and Alayn have really built something special in LA- super grateful for this community! ♥️

COULDN’T BE HAPPIER ❤️ - Awesome instructors: 1. Nicole is excellent at explaining the techniques for both leads and follows. She’s also very funny 😂, bubbly, friendly, and sweet:) She gives clear and easy-to-understand instructions. 2. Yahmani is awesome too. He gives clear and insightful instructions for the leads. He always gave me very useful personalized feedback and advice that helped me become a better follow/dancer when I danced with him in each class. - Excellent curriculum and class structure: 1. I love that my class is taught by two instructors, which makes demonstrating easier and helps with everything else. 2. I love the course design and course materials. Students get lots of practice with fellow students in each class. Each student also gets to dance with an instructor one-on-one in each class to get personalized feedback. - Welcoming environment: 1. Very friendly and supportive classmates and instructors. I always ended up having so much fun in class at DU even on days I feel exhausted. 2. Lots of my classmates strive to improve. I love that we all want progress and help each other improve. These are some of my favorite things about Dancer University. They also have group chats, a great community, and awesome events. Fantastic experience. Highly recommend:)

I have been participating in the Zero to Hero Bachata Sensual Class at Dancer University since January and I can’t say enough nice things about it! With no prior dance experience, I found the environment supportive for individuals of all skill levels. I’ve completed three beginner series and felt my confidence and skills improve. I highly recommend taking the series more than once since the instructors try really hard to make each series different. There is so much to learn, so repetition is key! I also like that you get to dance with the instructors and get feedback, I don’t believe other dance studios do this so this a huge plus. My instructors were David/Michelle and John/Sofia. AMAZING instructors, 10/10. Both partners are highly knowledgeable and explain technique in easy ways to understand. I enjoy the demo at the end of the class. Some great inspiration!! I look forward to my continued journey at Dancer!

The teachers in this studio are wonderful. They provide not only incredible patience and kindness, but also a fun atmosphere to learn how to dance and treat each other well. A special shout-out to Nicole (stunning excellence and specific feedback while keeping things fun) and Herman (demonstrates a level of care, passion, and detail I am not used to in teachers of any subject). As someone who never danced growing up, it's been helpful to see people so passionate about it. The class has also been helpful beyond the dance floor, to learn how to provide suggestions at work and in dating when appropriate. Thank you DU!
