Every time I visit Desierto Books, I come away with another treasure. From classic literature to vintage psychology books to a stunning selection of music- and art-themed coffee table books, this place is always a feast for the reader’s eyes. The most I’ve ever spent was $20, and that was for a book from the 70s that is no longer in publication AND was in perfect condition when I bought it. The location itself is so cozy and convenient, too, situated in the corner of MSA Annex, where you could easily buy a book, walk a few steps to buy coffee or tea, and sit under a palo verde tree to enjoy your finds. I always say take comments about “price” with a grain of salt: it’s worth supporting a local business that sells niche products, yet still keeps its prices equal with or lower than the multinational booksellers!
