Awesome experience today, my first time working with a bonsai professional. Ron was amazing, guiding me through the process to repot my crape myrtle. Super excited to see this amazing tree grow healthy and beautiful. Also, great place to obtain your bonsai supplies!!

As my boyfriend and I were out on our anniversary trip we came across a bonsai vendor on the side of the road. We've always wanted one and were quick to pull the trigger on this 20 & 4 years old Juniper bonsai! After some research we started to doubt the health of the 20yr old. We knew we needed a professionals help. Did some more research and boy was I lucky to have came cross Dirty Locus and have contacted Ron. He is one of the few public Bonsai specialist in Sacramento. First off, his garden is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. He has dozens of different kinds of bonsais (indoor/outdoor). He was so kind the moment I called him up, and up to the moment I left his garden. Very eager to help & teach the way of bonsai growing. He was very insightful & thorough with every question I had. I was very skeptical of being able to care for this tree at first until I heard his reassuring words. He helped assess the problems it had, then shortly had me on my way to begin my own bonsai journey. I did pay for a 30min consultation then paid again for the supplies and work he did to re-pot the big one. He offers classes if you'd like to learn more which I thought was so cool. I am very thankful for his help!! If you are interested in starting your own journey this is the best place to start. No doubt about it. Or come take a tour of his garden!

Been a student there for a few years now. There is a wealth of knowledge to be had. I had lost a lot trees prior to these classes. My trees are thriving thanks to his knowledge and teachings. Visiting is by appointment only and I will tell you it is worth it. It is a peaceful and beautiful garden to walk. Being a retired Veteran I will tell you, this place has brought me peace through his teachings. I have found purpose in caring for this beautiful art. Understand that this may not be true for all but you'll never know until you try.

Ron and Kelly are very personable (and patient 😝) graciously sharing their wealth of knowledge. Lovely grounds, and each tree is a treasure.

It was great really nice place! Nice people but the items are a little pricey. Bonsie and tools are included in that statement. But I did learn so it was well worth the visit.
