We can’t say enough great things about Doug! We brought him in to help with our anxious/aggressive rescue dog, A’ja, and he changed everything. It really is shocking when on the first visit he had A’ja laying down relaxed by looking in her eyes (which was quite the opposite of her behavior). Not only did Doug work with A’ja, but more importantly he taught us how to handle situations better as owners, which gave us the tools we needed to continue reinforcing her progress at home. His patience, professionalism, and genuine care for dogs shine through in every session. We are so grateful for Doug’s guidance. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trainer who truly understands dogs and more importantly their people!

Let me begin by stating that we have had an outstanding experience working with Doug. But to appreciate what he has done, you need to first understand what he was faced with. Ten months ago, our senior dog was joined by two incredibly rambunctious puppies, all three are Old English Sheepdogs. Very quickly, our visions of puppy playtime and cuddles were dashed when our sweet little babies turned into the cutest Tasmanian devils you have ever seen. Non-stop energy, they mobbed us whenever and wherever we walked around our home and while they were never mean or aggressive, puppies pulling on clothes and jumping on us, got exhausting. We quit entertaining in our home because we were concerned about how the puppies would act around guests. This was a concern that only grew as our little puppies also grew into very large puppies. Desperate, we started our search for a dog trainer but were frustrated that so many trainers in Las Vegas train by taking your pups out of the home, which is not something we were comfortable with. Then we happened upon the DOuGTrainer website. Doug presents a different approach. We read his blogs and watched his videos. I didn't understand his method, but every one of his reviews said it worked. I called Doug - and that was the day that everything changed. Two days later, Doug walked into our home and without saying a word or touching our dogs, he had them calmly laying on the floor, muzzle down watching him within about 8 minutes. They didn't mob him, they didn't grab his clothes, and he did it all within the first 3 steps inside the door. It was amazing to watch. Over the next several hours, Doug trained us, not the dogs. He taught us how to listen with our eyes and talk with our actions. He was our interpreter, explaining what our pups were trying to tell us and what they needed from us. As Doug worked with us, the pups responded, they relaxed, they were completely content. That was 3 weeks ago and thanks to Doug's patient, knowledgeable, and professional training, we've seen a huge transformation--with immediate results. As I have mentioned, what really sets Doug apart is that his training isn't just about the dogs--it's also about teaching us as owners how to effectively communicate with them. He helped us understand how to "speak" to our dogs in a way they truly understand, which made all the difference. His methods are kind, effective, and grounded in real experience. We now have calmer, more responsive dogs--and a much more peaceful home! If you're looking for a trainer who truly understands dogs and teaches you how to be a better owner, we can't recommend DOuGTrainer enough. I truly believe he can help no matter what the circumstances. If you are experiencing challenges with your furbaby, I encourage you to give him a call, you won't be sorry.

Doug surpassed our expectations during the past 4 months we had him as a trainer for our 2 babies. It is clear that he is passionate about what he does, and wants the best for you and your dogs. Because of his training, we have been able to decrease the energy level of our dogs which have significantly improved our relationship with them. We will continue to implement the wisdom he has taught us for the rest of our dogs’ life. Doug is incredibly kind and attentive, and will thoroughly answer any of your questions. His passion and knowledge is a gift to others and their fur babies. We will be forever thankful for helping us with our Bear and Scout!

The training with Doug was great. He is very in tuned to the dogs psych and is even able to predict their behavior before they act. From his training, I am able to cease any bad behavior from my dog now, by simply looking her in the eye. She will immediately lay and stay. This has been extremely helpful with a shelter adoption- where I don’t know her story. His approach completely makes sense and works. He works with the owner as much as the animal, and has given me so much knowledge as to how the animal “thinks”. Doug dog pet sat for me for a week and he was completely trustworthy- using the time for a doggie boot camp. He was great. I recommend this trainer for anyone who wants or needs help with their baby.

A totally holistic approach to dog training! Amazing ! I had an unruly year old cane corso that all the other trainers wanted me to muzzle train, use a slip lead, and/or leave her with them. This was unacceptable to me. Doug never touched or even talked to my dog, and no muzzle, no slip lead! He came to my home and trained me to communicate with my dog and to be aware of her communication with me. It's like I have a whole new dog! I called Doug because I couldn't leave my home without my dog as she destroyed the front panel of her "room," aka crate, and escaped. If left out of her crate, she would get into all kinds of trouble! Yesterday I left her at home alone with full freedom in the house and she was absolutely perfect! He's taught me how to have a new relationship with her. It's 100% better than before! Thank you, Doug. I'm really enjoy my dog these days!
