We celebrated two birthdays at Doves—39 and 79, forty years apart—and our entire group blended together for such a memorable night! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was top-tier, drinks were amazing and the ambiance was beautiful from the moment we walked in. Our family left with full hearts, great photos, and so many memories. Doves is a fun, welcoming place for all to enjoy a wonderful time. Highly recommend!
Doves is an absolute gem and a must-visit for anyone looking for comfort food done right! The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm, friendly service that makes you feel instantly welcomed. The staff is attentive, welcoming, and truly goes the extra mile to ensure your dining experience is exceptional. The star of the menu for me has to be their fish and grits…simply amazing. The fish is perfectly seasoned and cooked to flaky perfection, while the grits are creamy, rich, and full of flavor. Together, they create a dish that’s both comforting and unforgettable. It’s one of those plates you savor slowly because you never want it to end. With fantastic food, standout service, and a cozy, inviting atmosphere, Doves delivers a dining experience you’ll want to repeat again and again. Highly recommended!
First and foremost, the staff at Doves were nothing short of amazing. We were fortunate to have Ms. Ka'Niya as our waitress during our visit, and she truly was the highlight of our night. Her attentiveness, friendly demeanor, and professionalism made us feel welcomed. It’s rare to find service that enhances the entire dining experience, but Ms. Ka'Niya certainly delivered on that front. We started our meal with the Wilson Wings appetizer which flavorful. The wings were perfectly seasoned and cooked just right, and we highly recommend them to anyone visiting the restaurant. Following that, we ordered our entrees: I chose the Forbidden Lamb Chops, and my wife ordered for the Whole Fried Snapper. Unfortunately, the mac and cheese was the biggest disappointment for us—it lacked the rich, creamy texture and bold flavor we were expecting. The rice served alongside was just okay, nothing to complain about but nothing particularly brag about either. On a more positive note, the collard greens were well-seasoned and stood out as the only side that truly complemented our entrees. We loved our drinks, especially the Gold Coast ( Hennessy) Another issue that caught us off guard was the unisex restroom setup. While we understand that restaurants may have unique restroom setups, the four closed-door toilets shared by all guests regardless of gender was unexpected and felt a bit uncomfortable.
I previously visited Dove Restaurant for a birthday celebration dinner and, to be honest, it was average, and I wasn't planning to return. However, after attending church with my daughter on 09/14/2025, we stopped by for brunch, and I must say I'll definitely be back. Sam Williamson, one of the owners, was exceptional. Upon arrival, there were no available tables, so the host offered us seating on the patio, which was quaint and acceptable. Sam introduced himself, offered us a glass of champagne, and then proceeded to clean the table. I was impressed by his hands-on approach, observing him take orders, serve drinks, wipe tables, and engage with patrons. It's rare to see such dedication. I eagerly anticipate my next visit, as it's heartwarming to see a black-owned business thriving with professionalism and a relaxed atmosphere.
Divine. Brunch was incredible and some of the best French toast we have ever tasted (which says a lot) as self-proclaimed foodies :)) The fish and grits arrived and honestly I thought it would be average - thinking how over the top can “fish and grits be?” Well it was over AND beyond those thoughts. The atmosphere is regal with chic decor, plush seating surrounded by sophistication. Highly recommended for the elite.
