I wish for there to be a way for all those in need of motivation – whether they are aware of it or not- to be able to attend any class by Laura Sentz. By chance, I was one of the lucky few to be able to do just that last year. I had been in desperate need of a sustainable boost in energy, as challenges posed by life and work continue to go on, even if your own personal circumstances do not. Fortunately, my husband introduced me to a virtual yoga class offered by his fellow colleagues which lowered the barrier of entrance for me through the realm of guided fitness from the comfort of my own home. I thank Laura so much and I do hope more live stream classes of either strength and conditioning or pilates could be led by her in early mornings mid week as well! Both my mind and physical form have been toned into their best shapes in years. The very first class I joined at the pristine time of 12 pm was a delightful treat of intensity. I had lost touch and self confidence with just how far I could push my own body through temporary discomfort, and it was when I heard and saw Laura raise her leg –sculpted to a form possible by sheer diligence and discipline – higher than my own leg (that was already feeling like it was on fire) during a side leg raise, after she had already done two classes back to back that I also became reconnected to what it meant to feel inspired to “do” again. Her doing the whole class with us, move by move, as well as the sheer confidence and belief in her voice that we can do more than we believe we can, gave me tingles. After this point, the rest was history, and the future of self manifesting beyond ones previously preset limits seemed possible. Previously, I have never been one for routine that I could set on my own, but her class was the first example of a pull to meet a deadline before it starts. Each class, I have been able to carry her cheers and reminders to stay present and endure with the immediate added burst of endorphins(it was this class that showed me that relief can follow hard intentional efforts known to create gain I might add!). Laura unwittingly, as well as so many of my close peers and supportive family members who have bared with me during a period of intense pain introspection, helped engrain in me what I think I understated too long : change marked by adulthood is really commitment to self accountability and perseverance by giving your best effort when possible to at least see a change and determine if this is the change you want to keep going forward with. Laura’s humbleness feels like the real deal, with the appeal of a main character persona, that I thought was limited to fiction or history. Yet, her classes ground her students to the same reality of enduring the same feats customized to fit our unique forms. Proving that we too, can be the main characters we enjoy or wish to be in our own personal life circumstances. Though the monthly rates are high, especially if you are mainly a virtual member, the hope of attending as many classes by special instructors like Laura keeps me here after about 6 months still. Thank you to this wholesome studio of instructors for existing! Last year, I was reminded of the beautiful quote by Maya Angelou “Nothing will work unless you do” Laura Sentz and several others here embody this message to their core and help that bud in others. And for the more Star Wars fans out there, a close remix of Maya Angelou’s quote above would be Yoda's “Do or do not. There is no try”. Thank you also for reading!
This yoga studio is such a gem in Back Bay. It's bright, full of plants, and seriously cozy in the best way. My favorite class here is hands down Yoga Sculpt. It’s the perfect combo of flow and strength, and I love that it gives me a good sweat without feeling too intense. Plus, the instructors are super encouraging without being over-the-top, which I appreciate. I usually swing by after work, and it’s so convenient. I work in the Prudential Center and it is close enough to my office that I can make it there easily, but it still feels like a break from the workday. Honestly, it’s become such a nice little ritual in my weekly routine.
The Back Bay studio is absolutely amazing! It's impeccably clean and perfectly situated, surrounded by a variety of great stores, making everything super convenient after taking a class!
Such a good experience!! I was visiting Boston and was craving a yoga class - I took Cali’s vinyasa and it was everything I needed! Such a cute little studio on the third floor and two spacious studios! The only downside was having to pay $3 to rent a mat for an hour
