I boarded my dogs at Dreamland for nearly 10 years with no issues and even gave them a 5-star review, but our experiences this year (2025) have been very different. Over spring break, my senior dog came home with sores on his mouth. I was told, casually, that he had been barking and pushing against the kennel, something that had never happened in his many previous stays. Weeks later, the sores were still healing and he was prescribed anti-anxiety medication for future boardings. During the summer, both my senior dog and my 8-month-old puppy stayed twice. After the first stay, they just seemed tired, but when I returned them for the second, neither wanted to go inside, which was very unlike my senior who had always loved going. That gave me pause, but I trusted our long history. When I picked them up after that second stay, I was told my puppy had broken a toenail. In reality, she had lost the entire nail, the quick was exposed, and she was bleeding. No message about this ever reached me despite being told one had been sent. The note I was later given was vague, and I never got a clear answer about what care was provided. At the vet the next morning, the toe was not looking good and we were warned she could lose it. It took multiple vet visits for her to recover, and Dreamland never once followed up. On top of this, both dogs lost ~8% of their body weight over the course of these two stays. My puppy has since rebounded, but my senior has only regained half. I understand not all dogs do well in boarding, but this was more than that. It was a serious breakdown in communication and care. After a decade of trust, I can no longer recommend Dreamland.
