I frequently go to Dry Bar and arrived within the 15 minute typical grace period due to chaotic parking in DC. There was no one else in the shop and still an hour left for them to complete my 30 minute blowout. Whomever I spoke with said they don’t do grace periods within the last hour, not sure if this is true because I couldn’t find that information anywhere, but they charged the FULL amount which is ridiculous because I did indeed show up to my appointment. This is disappointing and uncalled for. If anything, I should have only been charged $25 for being late. I also ran over there because I knew I was behind due to not being able to find parking. I am very disappointed by this again as there was still time to complete my quick blowout.

Was very happy with my experience with Monica! I asked for a voluminous blow out with pin up curls and she delivered just that- and made it last the whole day after I got my hair done at 8 am. Hair even looked great the next day too without feeling crunchy.

I have been to this dry bar several times for important events and have always been satisfied with my blow out. This review is not about quality of services, but quality of management and customer service. I booked a blowout the morning of my baby shower, to begin at 10:45 am. I arrived on time. I noticed there was a group ahead of me and figured the salon was a little behind, no big deal, but all of the comfortable seats were taken and I had to sit on a backless wooden bench (quite uncomfortable at 29 weeks pregnant). At 10:54, I asked the front desk how much longer she estimated I would wait and she said the stylist would only be another 5 minutes. No problem, but the delays continued. I waited until 11:17 before I approached again, when I was told there were still two people ahead of me and I needed to keep waiting. I decided to cancel my appointment because I needed to go get ready for my shower. This was an incredibly disappointing experience. At no time was the significant delay acknowledged by the staff, nor was I offered a drink, food, etc., or even a more comfortable seat. This was a very important day for me and I wanted my hair to look nice because I would have so many photos taken at my baby shower. Dry bar really let me down. I will not be back and will not recommend them to family or friends who need services, as I have in the past.
