TLDR: I had a negative experience with the instructor named Amanda who was rude and lied about me to the director instead of having a discussion as adults. Unfortunately, my experience here was not a positive one. I signed up for my first beginner drawing class with Amy, but she never introduced herself, asked for our names, or explained how the class would be structured. Midway through the session, she assigned an activity that I found quite challenging—especially for a first class and as someone with ADHD. I gave it a try, but due to my frustration, I decided to stop and planned to try again with the next project or at home. When Amanda asked if I was done, I told her I was finished. As a paying adult student who was sitting quietly and not distracting anyone, I believe I had the right to step away from the activity. However, Amanda responded with a noticeably rude tone and expression. I later asked her about the class structure and how we were expected to learn, as this had not been explained at the beginning. About 30 minutes before class ended, my ride arrived early. I thanked her and left, intending to return the following week. To my surprise, I later received a call from the director, who told me Amanda had reported an “issue.” I was accused of being rude and disruptive—neither of which is true. These accusations seemed to stem from the lack of clear communication at the start of class and the way I was treated when I chose to stop the activity. I felt very uncomfortable and mistreated. To the director’s credit, I did receive a refund and an apology. However, my experience with Amanda was extremely disappointing. I won’t be recommending this place, especially when instructors make false claims about students instead of offering support and guidance.
