One of the most social martial arts clubs in Edinburgh. I wandered in for 2 free sessions in 2011 and never left. I've been going on and off for 10 years because it's just so much fun. And it's nothing like the stereotype of a martial arts club. - Good gender balance - Emphasis on self-defence over aggression and technique over strength - Senseis Ben, Gunnar and Neil are good teachers that won't expect you to do things you're not comfortable with - Such a friendly club, lots of parties, socials and activities like walks/board games etc.

Outstanding club. Now at Walpole Hall - Palmerston place. This jiu jitsu is all technique - not strength. Very intelligent tuition - makes it feel easy. Be ready to learn some Japanese words! The founder has established a really inclusive friendly respectful culture. Regular programme of grading means hares can progress up the belt-colours fast, but tortoises are also allowed to go at their pace.

Super friendly club with a lovely mix of people. Training is really well structured with a good balance between throws, ground work, and self defence. Frequent opportunities to socialise so great for people who are new to the city
