This was my first time going to a physio as I’ve never had an injury serious enough to need it and it was amazing. Peter Dery guided me through rehabilitation for a quad injury with his incredible knowledge in sports science. He was able to very quickly design a plan for my rehab and every step of the way he made sure that I understood what it was we were doing to get me back into my sport. I was given both strength and plyometric exercises and we used the gym for him to show me through each one and have me perform it to make sure I understood what the exercise was and that it was manageable for my quad. I highly recommend this place for sports related injuries.
The support and care I received from this practice after my ACL injury was beyond excellent and completely tailored to my needs. Having never really injured myself badly it was very daunting and hard to know what decisions to make to move forward. I need not have worried, as Pete Dery was wonderful. Not only did he take care of my physical rehab journey, pre and post surgery, he also took the time to get to know me and tailored a routine that worked for not only rebuilding my knee but also my confidence. The support from Rayna and all of the admin team was exceptional and I would not have had such an excellent rehab without their care. A big thank you and I highly recommend the practice.
After many unsuccessful months of physiotherapy elsewhere, I started working with Peter. After the first session, and some apparently simple exercises, I started to feel much stronger. He knows what he is talking about and understands the busy schedules many if us have, tailoring exercises accordingly. I have now completed my course of sessions and feel so much better. I saw Peter Dery after tearing a hamstring in May whilst training for a marathon. Peter worked with me over the next six months to help me repair my hamstring and build up the strength in both hamstrings to help prevent a recurrence. What was great about Peter's approach was that he encouraged me to keep running through the recovery process and to use that as part of building additional strength in my hamstrings. This was really important to me, as it ensured that I was able to run another marathon this December. Peter also clearly has fantastic technical knowledge and understanding of the latest sports science, which he used to support my recovery process and work out what would work specifically for me as a runner. I cannot thank Freya and Peter enough for the incredible care and expertise they provided throughout my rehab from an Achilles tendon rupture which occurred while playing rugby. I had never had a serious injury before but from start to finish they showed exceptional support and helped to provide steady progress, build my confidence and ultimately have a successful return to rugby Their knowledge of sports rehab is outstanding, and each session was tailored with purpose and a balance of challenge and encouragement. They explained every step of the process, made sure I understood the reasons behind each exercise, and constantly adjusted the plan to keep me moving forward safely. They kept me motivated and focused on the bigger picture. What really stood out was how genuinely invested they were in my recovery — not just helping me walk again, but helping me return to competitive rugby with confidence. The use of facilities at ESS and their force plate testing helped greatly in monitoring my progress in the later stages of recovery and provided me more confidence in my Achilles before going back to rugby.
