I have been a member for over 18 months now. I was overweight and very unfit with frequent back problems. I have lost 2 stone and become much stronger and I feel really great. I am 76 and it’s given me a new lease of life! I enjoy training with Lewis, he has a great personality and good humour, he’s very chatty but also knows his stuff and is always happy to help me to exercise safely. Matt is kind and supportive and helps to keep up enthusiasm by varying the exercises and adapting them to allow for my injured knee. Joey takes top marks for his energetic outlook, both in the gym and outside organising walks etc. I love coming to the gym, I especially like the friendly attitude which spills from the trainers to the members
I joined Empowered Fitness on a free trial in January, having hit 50 and struggling with back pain and lethargy. It’s now October and I haven’t missed a single session. I have been 3 times a week and haven’t had any back pain or indeed any illness, colds, pains all year! It’s a really accessible way to get stronger and boost self esteem. I can see the changes in my body and my mind. I want to say thank you to Lewis Dean, who brings such fun and flair to the sessions, Joey Ledbury who is always so positive and motivating and Matt who is a steady and empowering gym lead.
I recently joined the gym for a 6 week programme and can highly recommend. The trainers are all friendly, non judgemental and supportive and members have been very welcoming. I've attended small personal training and group sessions and love that no two classes feel the same. I've had most classes with Lewis and can't fault him. He has provided constructive feedback and there is always joyful repartee - great to leave a session knowing that you've worked hard and can have a laugh!
Over the years I have joined gyms, signing up at the first session and never going back, not getting any fitter, just poorer. I thought I would give empowered fitness a try and have been going regularly since last August. I am so much stronger than I was, it is as the name suggests, empowering. The trainers are all lovely and their level of care and expertise is great. They constantly check in with each member, making sure they can make any allowances for injuries or weaknesses. They have always been extremely patient with me, especially during the times my back or knees were playing up. We can all work at our own pace and own level, and you can choose from a smaller group of up to 4, or a larger one of up to 10. Just give them a try, you will soon see what I mean!
