We did the mob room heist and had a blast. It wasn’t easy but it was super fun. Just two of us and we finished within time and only with 2 clues. The staff were by far some of the nicest and friendliest people we have interacted with during our trip. They were helpful (but not so helpful that they didn’t let us do it on our own) and shared our excitement when we solved within the time. Just really friendly and kind people. I imagine the would’ve been the same way with everyone who goes to play. Just such a fantastic way to end a lovely day in Manhattan. Great for all ages over the suggested game recommendation. Definitely on the vacation to do list. Enjoy! Keep your mind sharp and stay focused!

We recently visited this escape room and unfortunately had a mixed experience. We arrived about 20 minutes late due to heavy traffic. When we got there, the staff seemed surprised by our lateness and told us our time would be shortened, which we completely understood. To be fair, they were somewhat accommodating and gave us about 45 minutes instead of the 35, plus an extra 5 minutes at the end because we were very close to finishing. That part was appreciated. The main issue was with the room itself and how the situation was handled. Shortly after we started, the door to the room malfunctioned and opened on its own. We had to pause while someone came in to repair it, which completely broke the immersion and took away from the experience. We continued and managed to solve everything, but when we reached the final clue and entered the correct solution, the lock didn’t work. Because of that malfunction we were told we lost the game. When we brought up the technical issues and the time lost due to the door repair and lock malfunction, an employee told us it was essentially our fault for being late and was quite rude in the way she handled the conversation. That was the most disappointing part. We understand being late has consequences and we accepted the shortened time, but equipment malfunctions and dismissive customer service should not fall on the guests. With better handling and properly functioning rooms, this could have been a great experience. Edit after response from the owner l: I never said anything about the way your staff handled the fact that we arrived late, I even said it was “much appreciated”, that was the only reason I initially gave you 2 stars instead of the 1 that you deserved. In regards to my “inaccuracy”, while the fact that we were “allowed to keep playing the game when the door stopped working we did have to signal your staff the fact that the room didn’t work as intended and only after trying to notify them twice someone entered the room after about 5 minutes (of which we just waited and didn’t play), and later when we were instructed to keep playing we tried to do so but it’s impossible to enjoy the room while there is an employee trying to shut the door with power tools. Your statement that we weren’t penalized as a result might technically be true since the clock didn’t pause is not true in practice as we actually had to wait for it to be fixed until we were actually able to play again. In regards to the lock, I don’t know if it was the last clue, I was informed by your employee that it was. if they don’t know their own room that’s a different problem that you have to investigate but i was told that after solving that we would have finished the game. Now you can deny all you want but we knew the code prior to the end time and the only reason I won’t write it here is because I respect the people who choose to try your escape room. But the fact is that we knew the code before the clock ended and when your employees came and tried to show us they couldn’t open it either. The fact that we arrived late and the fact that your room didn’t work are 2 different things. If you want to use the fact that we were late and blame us for the problems your room has that’s on you, but the truth is that your room and your staff caused this one star review, you charge a lot of money and in return you provide a product that doesn’t work with employees that are rude and when you face criticism you shift the blame and ignore your paying customers
