Knowledgeable staff and a great wine selection. I found some interesting bottles here.
This is a hole in the wall with a secret treasure downstairs, underneath the roads above: It has a fantastic wine cellar with an incredibly knowledgeable staff, Len (the proprietor) in particular. These folks really, really know their wines, and they are very passionate. They will work with you to find you exactly what you are looking for. From something nice for the every day to something majestic for a Saturday night or special occasion. And their scotch selection is also fantastic. Joe, the manager of the scotch business there, is equally knowledgeable and passionate. This is a wonderful hidden gem in plain sight. It looks like a cheap packie, but man, what a shop.
If you like good (outstanding) wines and are close to Faneuil Hall, be sure to visit this wine store. Excellent service and an underground cellar that will surprise you. They’re true treasures, especially French and Italian wines. For wine lovers, spend some time down there, you’ll be surprised. It was worth the splurge!
This shop is a cool little place with a literal wine cellar down a narrow spiral staircase. The staff was very kind and helpful, and they stock a fair amount of quality spirits and wines, with a small selection of beer. The only drawbacks are that the wine cellar section is hard to make sense of, being somewhat disorganized and dusty, and there are some bottles old enough that they aren't likely to be good anymore, so do pay careful attention to vintages. The inside feels kind of like a secret treasure hunt, though, which is fun, and the selection is fairly broad, so you are highly likely find something worth taking home.
Oenophiles look no further. While I believe this place is no longer a hidden gem, you need to invest your time here for carefully selected drops and lots of great stories. My new go to anytime I am in Boston now.
