I visit local bookstores in every city I go. Beautiful selection and very helpful staff who offered personalized recommendations based on a book I had recently finished.

cute little shop with lots of books and a cozy fireplace area! i think this place will be lovely to visit in the winter. plus, the guy manning this store is really amazing and thoughtful too! i’d come back here the next time i’m around southie

More than a bookshop, Parkside has quickly emerged as a top Boston gift destination for me! Think of this as a great all-purpose bookshop that has curated the best of many genres in a compact space. Particularly of note is the cookbook section and many gift-able books. In addition to books, they have a wonderful selection of high quality small gifts and stationery. Think crafting kits, a cool stamp set, candles in beautiful ceramics, and the like. They also carry what I think might be one of the best card selections in Boston, featuring obscure artist-made brands I haven’t seen elsewhere. I find myself picking up a card every time I visit even though my card collection is overflowing. As a bonus, their owner is lovely and they currently run book clubs at least monthly (see photos). Support this local, woman-owned gem!

Great new bookstore in the South End! Has a bit of everything, from children’s books to vinyl! Stopped by for the sidewalk sale this weekend.
