We visited the gym today to sign up. Based on our research, we really felt this was the best club we could choose. The lady at the front desk introduced the programs to us. I told her that my English is not very strong and kindly asked her to speak a bit more slowly. When it was time to complete the registration, she told us we had to do it ourselves on the machine and then left us. I didn’t know how to use the system, and I was honestly surprised — isn’t it her job to help new members? I still tried my best, but when I had a question during the payment process, she responded with a very rude attitude. Her tone made me uncomfortable to ask anything else, and my husband and I decided to finish the registration using ChatGPT instead. I did complete my registration, but I was really disappointed with her behavior. This is not the level of customer service I expected from this gym.
Since people are villanizing the staff is only correct to write an accurate review, machines are old but they work perfectly and are regularly checked, most of the negative comments come from people that dont get their way or simply very immature for adults... also the staff is always helpful and keep the gym very clean in comparison to the other Fit4Less. A very nice place to workout! Just sometimes people are people.
Unethical billing practices! I got charged an annual fee on my next payment when cancelling my membership. Help me understand how an organization can charge me an annual fee to cover the next 12 months when I am no longer going to make sure of its services over that time period. This is on a month to month plan. When I called to get clarification regarding thre excess charges, the customer “service” representative was arrogant and told me “too bad”, not in those exact words. These are predatory billing practices for which organizations such as this should be monitored and sanctioned for.
The Undisputed Worst Fit4Less Gym in Canada. I been a member of Fit4Less for almost two years now, originally in Toronto. I visited multiple locations there even ones in rougher neighborhoods and they all been clean, organized, and decently maintained. But this branch in Downtown Vancouver? Without a doubt, the worst one i ever seen. Let’s talk about the scale it’s been out of service since February. When I asked the manager, James, he told me: “We have a new one in the office waiting for a last piece to arrive, and we will replace it soon.” That was months ago, and surprise the scale is still not working. That’s not even the only issue: The outside door has been broken for days. The massage chair is out of service. There are mud patches all over the gym seriously, how does this go unnoticed? One of the cable machines is down (not a huge deal yet, but it adds to the list). This is supposed to be a downtown location you expect higher standards. The level of neglect here is honestly a disrespect to paying members. I don’t normally write reviews like this, but enough is enough. Fit4Less needs to step up and start taking member concerns seriously.
I like the price of the gym. But the inconsistent staffing on the weekends is a bit hard to deal with. It says Saturday and Sundays staff from 11-4. Today there is a sign saying the club is unstaffed. This is not the first time I’ve encountered it. And as a black card member I would like to take advantage of my tanning benefits. UPDATE: The gym is aptly named with the word LESS! Sure less fees than other gyms but also less service. Today (Sunday) I went to the gym and no staff were around during their posted “staffed” hours. I used some of the other amenities hoping a staff would show up. Nothing. I tried knocking on the office door. Nothing. I phoned and it went to voicemail. A lady looking like she needed assistance in the front lobby before entering the gym, never got helped. Finally someone walked into the office and then out, and I saw another person in the office. So I went and knocked twice on the door - no comment or acknowledgment. The other guy (an employee not on shift) came back and I asked if he could help me. He was able to assist and explained that the other staff was busy doing “a course” on the computer and could not step away. I’m glad I got what I needed. But this is completely unacceptable. If you join this gym, you join because you pay LESS and you most definitely receive LESS… By the other reviews it’s clear that management and corporate do not care. And I have observed a corporate visit while working out.
