I was just sitting with my son before bed and he easily read an entire chapter of a book to me. It's hard to believe that this child that struggled to sound out simple words four months ago can read aloud an entire chapter. You have given him the world of books. He can sit and read things he enjoys now. He can sit and read to his little sister. This January, because their school is so small, he was able to jump into several afternoon classes with his classmates who had moved on a grade without him. He has a confidence that shines from him. His entire life, my son shied from challenges, but now he has seen the fruit of hard work and of diligence and that is itself an invaluable gift apart from the accomplishment of reading. Thank you for your hard work in his life. Thank you for the many hours spent with him. Thank you for your encouragement. Thank you for the snacks and smiles. Thank you for the parting gifts and recent note in the mail that lit his face as he read it. Thank you for the generous scholarship that helped him get there. We are deeply grateful to all of you and to Fort Wayne Center for Learning for what they have done in his life. This has been a turning point in his life. He misses all of you. You will always have a special place for him! Thank you for what you do.
