A few years ago, we spent $2,500 to have Furniture Rescue paint our dining table and chairs black, primarily based on the glowing reviews online. Almost immediately, paint started chipping and flaking off. We touched up these areas with a sharpie until we decided to contact the owner in January this year to see if they could fix it. We spoke with “John” and found that he had purchased the business from the previous owners recently. I discussed the problem with him, sent him photos, and he eventually agreed to repaint the table (only) if I covered the cost of materials, which I said I would. He said his shop was very busy until March so I agreed to contact him again in March. Which I did. Same story, shop still busy, he would contact me when he could pick up the table. He never did. I called and texted him every week or two to follow up, but always an excuse. Forgot to file his taxes. Abscess tooth. Sick. Busy. Could pick it up today when making another delivery, but then never showed up and no contact. I eventually gave up. Even if he did promise to pick up the table at this point, I’d say no since I doubt I would ever see it again. I realize he bought the business, but along with the assets come the liabilities. He didn’t have to agree to fix my table, but he did. I think the reputation of a small business is important and standing behind your work and taking care of your customers is the way to get repeat business and new customers. At this point, I could not possibly recommend this business to anyone.

I was very pleased with the service I received at Furniture Rescue. My table had water rings from cups and glasses and a couple of chips. I was so amazed when it was delivered back home and it looks brand new. John is very kind, professional and detailed with the work he does. Thank you 😊

I had already been burned by a highly rated furniture refinishing shop in West Sacramento that happily took my money and did a very poor job refinishing some family heirloom, solid maple, furniture. For several years, I stewed every time I saw the formerly beautiful furniture that has so much sentimental meaning to me. Finally, I decided that I would just need to write off the money I had spent and find a reputable furniture restoration and refinishing business that would do the job right, so I contacted several places and ended up going nowhere. I couldn’t get responses. It seems that customer service is in very short supply in this industry. Almost as a last resort, I took a chance on Furniture Rescue. They had good reviews but not many. WOW! Am I thankful that I found Furniture Rescue. They have good customer service and they do excellent work! I am elated at the quality of the work they did on the 8 pieces of furniture I had repaired and refinished there over the past year. (I recently gave them my 9th piece.) I am so happy that I found them. They do old-fashioned, craftsman-style work…and their prices are right. This is the place to take your furniture to be restored, repaired, and/or refinished. I HIGHLY recommend Furniture Rescue.
