Staff was nice. My sister is a regular and had my brother and I tried it out on New Year’s Eve for the first time. Super delicious. Here is the ratings of the foods we ordered. Appetizer: Cheese Focaccia w/Marinara 4/10 (bread was fine but the cheese reminded me of school cheese from elementary school, sauce was delicious though) Pizza: Meat Lovers 9/10 Fancy Cheese 8/10 Pasta: Fettuccine Pesto Alfredo w/Grilled Chicken 9/10 (my sister says it was good but she will still continue to order her beloved fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken) Went at around 1:30, it was difficult finding seating but not too bad. Sister says it’s usually not that busy when she goes for lunch on the weekdays. She usually does a kids size meal. Food came out pretty quickly in about no more than 15 mins! Sister and I shared the regular sized pasta and it was still too much for us. All in all was a wonderful experience!
The food was amazing, you have to get the fried mushrooms with the garlic aoli sauce! And the cheesecake, the cheesecake brought tears to my eyes! Everyday since I have gone here I fight the urge to go and get some. The employees were lovely, idk if it was the owner but someone from the pictures on the wall was working in the kitchen laughing with Hispanic employees, talking to them in Spanish and honestly that was so heartwarming. And the arcade games don't need a coin to be played!
We used to really enjoy Gambills but the quality is becoming inconsistent and my most recent visit tonight was genuinely concerning due to a food safety issue. My $20 pasta dish (chicken parm) was served burnt (the second time this has happened here), but far more alarming was that it arrived in a severely damaged bowl, not a small chip, but five large chunks missing from the rim, with multiple chips throughout. Cracked and chipped dishware cannot be properly sanitized and should never be used to serve food. Looking back at my photos, when I moved the chicken it was clear that it had been resting directly on the exposed, porous interior of the bowl, where an approximately inch-wide chunk was missing. That is extremely alarming from a sanitation standpoint. When we pointed this out, there was no apology or concern expressed, just a casual “oh ok, we’ll remake it.” Because this is an order-at-the-counter restaurant, my husband already had his food while I was left waiting with nothing. We ultimately just took the remake to go as we had to go to a concert. Between the burnt food, unsafe dishware, and an indifferent staff response, this place feels increasingly inconsistent and careless. Disappointing from what used to be our go-to neighborhood spot.
The food is incredible! I don't particularly care for pizza and I eat a piece of my husband's goat cheese every time we go. Every single dish is amazing, but my favoriteis the chicken parmesan. The salads, bread, and sauces are perfection. Sorry for the subpar pictures. We started eating before I took them. I mix my sauce half and half (why the weird color). This is what is left after my husband and I both ate. So so good!!
This is seriously some of the best pasta I’ve had in my life and I’ve been to Italy. I had the lemon cream fettuccini Alfredo and added fried chicken and my mom had the pasta pomodoro. Both were cooked to perfection and were SO tasty. The portion sizes were large. The staff was also very friendly and personable. If you’re ever in the Tulsa area, give Gambill’s a try! You won’t regret it.
