The best thrift store in Dallas. It's a non-profit and goes to a good cause. They have a great selection of barely used shoes for men, women, and kids. Also furniture and home supplies like plates & glassware are always in abundance. Great name brand hanbags and jewelry are available. The clothing selection in large but the quality is hit-or-miss. Overall, I would highly recommend swinging by and checking this place out.
I’ve become pretty disappointed with Genesis. My understanding is this thrift store is supposed to be a landing spot for people needing a new start. Specifically for women who may need good clothes for an interview after leaving DV relationships. Women in highland park/north dallas donate here because they know their nice pieces are going to a good cause. That’s what it was 10 years ago anyway. Now, the prices are astronomically high. It is actually gross how high these prices are. I tried to buy a pair of sunglasses with the tags still on them as a gift. Some random brand, nothing fancy. The sign says they’re $3 and up (perfect opportunity for the employees to just make up a price) I get to check out and the employee said my total was $15 plus the case was like $3 or something. I asked for a price reduction to better honor the starting price and she wouldn’t budge. Also saw two glass candle holders for $90. No branding on them. No reason for such high prices except for pure greed. I’d be interested to know who is in charge of the pricing there. Too bad. Go to White Rock thrift instead. They are also mission based.
It’s giving grift not thrift. Prices are INSANE!!! Selling homemade craft projects and posters as “framed art” instead of just the frame. Even with the 50% off the prices are ridiculous. $14 for a 7 year old sweater too. Whoever does the pricing is really feeling themselves.
I found some insanely good pieces originally $50 to$200 and got them for $8 to per piece $15 ! Will come back for more later. Also didn't get this comfy 2 piece for $12 (not my color), should still be there!
I really enjoyed coming here!! For me, the staff was friendly and happy. Everyone (including the shoppers) are in good spirits and happy to be finding GOOD brands to thrift instead of fast fashion/Shein. I would say this is a higher end thrift store where things are a bit nicer so you can expect prices that are higher than Goodwill. This place sells things quickly!! I've been there three times and I never see the same thing twice! The parking lot is small but sometimes that's what happens with hidden gems. Definitely check this place out!
