Best Vet in the 757! We have been taking our dog there for about 3 years now. They are a 'fear free' vet so they let us schedule a play date where we just showed up and they gave our dog treats. He now associates the vet with treats, which makes it a lot easier to take him in for his shots or check ups! Great staff and great location to serve the greater downtown area!
I’ve been taking my two corgis to Ghent Vet for several years and they are fantastic. They are Fear Free certified which means their goal is to provide a stress free appointment for your pet. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Ghent Vet is the best vet clinic in the Hampton Roads area.
Trying to keep this short & to the point but there’s much to praise about this practice! First, you will probably never find more than 1 person with a pet in the waiting room. This clinic strives for that in order to keep stress levels down. Yours, theirs, but most importantly the patients! (Our pets). They are always number 1. And it shows in the care shown by each vet, vet tech, assistant, office staff you see. BTW, the reason the waiting room is empty is because they have plenty of rooms for their patients and you are directed into one as soon as you get there! We adopted our boy just shy of 3 months ago. He was turned into the shelter on his 1 year birthday! And he’s such a good boy!! But he is definitely anxious and needs time to earn his trust. Everyone there is awesome at this. They never, ever rush him! Dr Betsy Marshall is the owner of Ghent Veterinary and is wonderful, but we have been seen by 2 others there and they were great, as well! In this economy, almost everyone has to watch their money but I have found their prices to be in line with others. Pet insurance will make all the difference, so get it & you won’t have to worry!!😊
We’ve brought 3 of our dogs here so far and I am super impressed with the staff and level of care! As a vet tech myself I can be a bit particular about my furry kids care, but Ghent Vet is amazing every time and my dogs enjoy going! That speaks huge to me! Thank you all for the hard work you do for us pet owners.
We've been clients of Dr Marshall since 2008 and moved with her when she opened her own practice. Ghent Vet is on a completely different level from any veterinary office I've ever been to. While Dr Marshal is a fabulous vet, it's really the little things that make this such a pleasant visit. - The waiting room is light and airy and spotlessly clean. - Check in is never late, which is a big deal for me. - Alex always opens the door for me as I arrive and leave. - The dogs are not left waiting in the waiting room, as they take you back immediately upon arrival. I appreciate that because it reduces the stress on my dogs who don't like being around other dogs. - They write a welcome note on the door of the examination room. As I said, it's the little touches. - You are offered a drink each time you visit. This is much appreciated on very hot, or cold, days. - All the metal exam tables have a soft, non-slip rug on them. This is a little thing that helps reduce the stress on the doggos. - The techs are incredibly helpful and gentle. Camille is especially wonderful. Dr Marshall always takes her time to ensure I understand why she is recommending the treatments she does and does not hesitate to refer out if she feels the need. My old dog, Leroy, has a cracked canine that Dr Marshall did not feel comfortable removing, so she sent me to a canine dentist. Unfortunately, dentist too thinks she will break his mandible if she attempts to remove the tooth. I truly appreciate that she decided to refer me out, rather than breaking Leroy's mandible I was very happy to hear that they now also have a vet who treats rats, so now we have a one-stop shop for all our pets.
