We engaged MGooden Design for what we all thought would be small, quick, but multi-part project in a somewhat out-of-the-way location (at least for Michael and his crew). Thanks to the unavailability of local builders, and some unforeseen planning & zoning speed-bumps, the job stretched on far longer than anyone anticipated. Yet through it all, because MGooden Design served as the de facto general contractor, Michael & Co. kept their focus and maintained a steady but friendly hand on the project. That started, first and foremost, with an impeccable design. We knew from the moment we saw the first sketches that Michael had incorporated our thoughts and desires, and turned them into absolutely stunning plans. He was always prompt in addressing any concerns we had, and extremely patient in answering our layman’s questions. Better still, over the course of the project, Michael was a regular visitor to the site, and his punch-lists for sub-contractors were invariably far more detailed and demanding than even our own. His attention to detail is unsurpassed. Hiring an architect is almost never cheap (and if it was, you likely got what you paid for), but we’ve been extremely satisfied that our design dollars were spent on MGooden Design. And the reaction of family, friends, and neighbors to our completed project confirms that we made the right choice in architects.

M Gooden Design did an incredible job with our remodel. The design was nothing short of mind-blowing, and they were consistently professional and responsive. In addition to design services, they also will manage the project with the contractor to make sure prices are reflective of the quote and the quality remains high. We were very lucky to find them and have used them on multiple projects now. Highly highly recommended.

I am a teacher in the Dallas area who regularly asks professionals from a variety of fields to share with my students about their paths to success and overcoming obstacles. I asked Michael to share with my students and he was amazing. He was prompt, relaxed, good with the students. He explained the details of the architectural process clearly and was honest about difficult or challenging experiences that pushed him to grow. One of my students interested in pursuing Architecture as a career connected with him and was able to be an intern at MGooden Design.
