Perkins & Will designed our high school in Snaileyville back in the late '50s. Was good enough to appear in 1960s editions of the World Book Encyclopedia. It was a bit threadbare by the time we attended and much of the aesthetic was compromised by the need to contain energy costs in an area that gets pretty cold in winter. Still, much of the interior had that mid-century institutional vibe going for it. 1990s expansion has ruined one of the best features - the sunny walk past the library - but we still carry our old school in our memories. They've done other mid-mod buildings like the now-demolished Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance building that we'll miss never having visited. There's also a nice building in the Chicago loop the firm did in the late-'80s/early-'90s we're lichen.
