★★★★☆ (4/5) Came here with a couple of longtime friends for a Sunday walk, covered 4-5 miles along the beach, plenty of fresh air, beautiful day, and slightly questionable legs by the end. 😄 The Giant Dipper is a classic: creaky in a charming way, scenic, and just thrilling enough without pretending to be something it’s not. It’s not the smoothest ride on earth, but honestly, that’s part of the personality. You feel every dip, every rattle, and every laugh from the people riding with you. Great vibes, ocean views, and a solid dose of nostalgia. Not life-changing, definitely smile-inducing, especially after earning it with a walk. 🤪
Plenty of parking, plenty of great places to shop. I love San Diego. I was born and raised here. So nice to be back. We rented bikes rode down the boardwalk and then down mission Bay. It was the perfect weather today.
$8 for a ride. 10 minute wait. Crazy good rollercoaster that was built in 1925. Well worth it.

Very nice coaster! Awesome even to present day roller coaster standards. Nice dives, high speed (55 mph) and a long ride (2 minutes). The ratteling wood really adds to the sensation. The bounces when cornering are thrilling as well. We went in the morning when the row was still short.
