The gym is cleaner than some of the others I've recently shopped, including lifetime south, 24 hr Hancock, and ymca town lake. However, the parking is only validated if you are a member and buy that service. Parking is not validated for a day pass. They only have 3 squat racks, and two of them you can't even adjust the guards down or up. They have like 2 other Smith machines if you are fine with that... The dip handles are too wide as well for me as a 5'10" male, no adjustable option... The wider you do dips, the more shoulder strain it is... Good if you just do the basics and want a clean gym without rusted equipment. No hip thrust machine, you gotta set that up. Locker rooms were cleaner than lifetime south. Bring your own lock. Not many people stretch here. Good studio floor space that isn't used if you need a wide open space. Good cardio equipment. 95% of the clientele were men between the ages of 25-40 when I went from 4-7ish on a Tuesday. Not many women (probably because they lack a hip thrust machine...they just have the kick back machine which doesn't get very heavy). Most people do not make conversation. One guy I talked to was friendly, and he was from France. The staff were friendly and helpful and did a good job explaining the fees and options with membership. The club looks nicer than all the other places I've listed above in spite of the aforementioned inadequacies for my own workout needs.
This gym is incredibly clean and well-run. It’s clear etiquette is big here — weights were re-racked, all the equipment was clean, and everyone was just focused on getting through their lift. The front desk staff is incredibly helpful and kind. They answered all of my questions with patience and set it up to be a great experience. I absolutely recommend this Gold’s to anyone in the area!
Immaculate gym with the best staff! Shout out Daniel & Marcus especially for being so kind and helpful. Came in from out of town and they were wonderful hosts. Got in the gnarliest pump of my life, haven’t walked straight in 2 days 🤣😵💫
FINALLY!!! i’ve been going to this gym for years and they finally changed the faucet handles to normal ones instead of those stupid little push handles that shut off immediately. they have these handles and the westlake golds and i’m so happy they finally changed to these i hope all the golds gyms have these. its honestly the little things that have a big impact.
It's one of the cleanest, most well organized chain gyms I've been to. Everyone puts back their weights, and all the equipment is well maintained. Locker rooms were clean. Had all the standard free weights, cable machines, and weight machines you find in most gyms as well as a stretch area with some kettle bells and medicine balls. I was visiting Austin on vacation and paid $60 for a one week pass. Pretty good deal, I would say.
