We had a great time trading in our used gear. No hassle, and we got a fair trade in value and an additional 15% discount on buying new gear! Really pleased how this opened up new opportunities.
The Repair Shop at Guitar Center Willowbrook Houston is fantastic. Vince and Mark are knowledgeable and efficient. Turnaround time has been consistently less than 2 business days for all my repairs. I am always in search of reputable techs to work on my guitars, I found two that I trust with my babies. Great work Vince and Mark!
Awesome Sounds out of my equipment. I wasn’t real sure of what I really needed but I kno what I wanted . The man made sure I had everything it would take to complete the job. He made sure that what I didn’t need that I could return for full refund. Even if I opened the box or not. That’s service we can all agree on . Thank you Guitar Center .. Thank you Steve
I went to this Guitar Center on 249 in Tomball to sell my Ibanez Gio, and the experience was honestly terrible. I was originally told the guitar would be listed for around $115, but they only offered me $40. The guitar was missing a high E string, and the employee helping me said they’d have to replace it, which is fair but then told me the labor alone was $29.99. I later found out that price was inflated, and that instantly made the whole interaction feel sketchy. After “labor costs,” they told me I’d only get $10 for the guitar. At that point it felt like they were either trying to lowball me in bad faith or hoping I didn’t know any better. The employee helping me was completely unprofessional, and the whole situation felt like a scam happening right in front of me. I walked out without selling the guitar because of how shady and frustrating the experience was. I expected clear policies and transparency from a store as big as Guitar Center, but this location needs serious improvement. EDIT: [12/8/25] After a rough initial experience, I was contacted by Alex, the sales manager and he completely turned everything around. He reached out personally, listened to what happened, and went out of his way to make things right. You can tell he genuinely cares about the customers and the store’s reputation. Because of him, Guitar Center earned my business back. Alex the sales manager should really be Alex the store manager. The way he handled the situation showed real leadership.
Just left this place. Was about to spend several thousands for a DJ rig and a drum set for my sons. The drum set was incorrectly tagged, the store manager came out and instantly blamed someone for mis-pricing the unit, a customer, but took no accountability. The price tag of the unit wasn’t even on the floor or in stock. I was buying a floor model. He then came up with multiple speculative scenarios none of which where of any aide to resolve the issue . He then said the unit was 3 times the price displayed, and that he has two new in the box, and no way he could honor the pricing error. I then showed him the price from another local guitar center and he arrogantly said “well if you want to buy it from them be my guest I’m not honoring either of those prices”. Worst customer experience on a Black Friday with a customer about to invest 5 figures in music equipment. Not me, not here. Thanks but no thanks principal over profits. Mistakes happen but the refusal to even honor a sister store shows a deeper issue.
