I have given Hancock and Dana $800. Still, I can not get my deceased mothers 2017 tax refund check. After the original filing ($450), the IRS requested more information. I would have expected a courtesy follow up, but I was charged another $350. That was for 4 documents that were most likely on file. As well, my bank wouldn't cash my mother's Iowa state refund check. H&D response was to put it in the night deposit. I had to provide additional paperwork to IA treasury to get a check that I could cash. H&D's response on the federal refund check? There is nothing further that we can do. I should engage an attorney to follow up. I'm sure that would cost more than the balance of the return. Thanks a lot. I have worked with different accountants over the years and can't believe that anyone of them wouldn't have followed up as a matter of courtesy and service to a client. 1star is over rated.
