I really enjoyed the worksop for the beginners, and I am so happy that I made first steps in learning how to play the handpan ,this beautiful instrument! Marketa is a fantastic teacher making the learning process easy and fun. I'm looking forward for the next workshop
The Beginners Tutorial led by Marketa, hosted at Meridian Handpans was a delightful experience. Marketa has a lovely way of putting you at ease whilst you’re trying playing a handpan for the first time. I learned a lot about the history, production and foundational rudiments for starting to play. Just what I needed to start my handpan journey.
The beginners course is a really lovely introduction to the hand pan. Marketa is a gifted teacher and you soon find yourself making peaceful music with others and leave eager to explore the instrument further. Seeing the intricate processes involved in making and tuning the instruments in Duncan's workshop is a great added bonus
Thanks so much to Marketa and Duncan for the amazing space, atmosphere, knowledge and love you offer. The beginners course opened the floodgates into this magical instrument. It was also super interesting to get a glimpse into the craftsmanship Duncan has developed over the years not to mention his absolute dedication and passion for hand crafting these beautiful Meridian Handpans.
This was a fantastic workshop. Marketa is so talented, with a wonderful way of teaching. In a short period of time we were familiar with our handpans and playing simple beats together. It was so informative and more than I hoped it would be. The tour of the workshop with Duncan was also a highlight, and gave me a massive appreciation for how these instruments are made …. With skill, patience, heart and soul. I came away with a good understanding and skills to practice. I can’t recommend highly enough how good this workshop was. I absolutely loved it!
