If you really like books (and bookstores) you *have* to go to Hatchards. They have almost every book that people might want, and the organization is perfect — for both finding a specific title, and for serendipitous discoveries. As a visitor from the States, I really appreciated the two frames of PG Wodehouse and Christie novels!

Incredibly lovely atmosphere, wide selection of books, professional and funny staff, and amazing old library vibes with a modern twist. It is a pleasure to get lost inside on a London's rainy afternoon. Several floors, they have a lift if you can't go up or down the stairs, not too much people, and great prices. They helped us with everything we needed. Thank you for your attention!

Best book store I’ve ever visited. Rarely you see old editions that are restored and are for sale. Great collections from all around the world and plenty of signed copies of all genres.

I absolutely love this bookstore! Hatchards is more than just a shop, it’s a passage through history. The building itself is stunning, full of character and charm and the selection of books is incredible. There’s truly something for everyone here. The staff are also wonderfully knowledgeable and polite, always ready to help with great recommendations. A must-visit for any book lover in London!

I’ve been walking past this bookshop since I was a kid and only just found out it’s actually the oldest one around. Honestly it has everything from kids books and fiction to history, architecture, politics, art, culture and even rare finds. Definitely worth checking out.
