Overall a pretty good Sunday lunch, though I felt my crab starter was a bit of a letdown, dry bread, undressed crab and wilted watercress. Picture of a beetroot starter also, though I didn’t try it. Clearly a very busy Sunday Roast spot and with a constant stream of people coming and going. Highlights… The sides and including the stuffing, Mac and cheese, creamed spinach, cauliflower and cheese The actual roast plate - The meat could of been on the edge, to rear in my opinion, roast potatoes were good, gravy lacked depth, carrots and cabbage were delicious, I’m not a Yorkshire pudding person but it was crispy and light.
My wife treated me to the Jan special set lunch menu and it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and the Jan deals were excellent value. Loved the decor and atmosphere. The staff were attentive. The only slight disappointment was at the start of the meal, when I was at the toilet, my wife secretly informed the waiter it was my birthday and he told her he'd arrange something to mark the occasion but he must have forgot! A minor detail but it would've been a nice addition to the visit.
We had an excellent experience at Hawksmoor Edinburgh. The three course offer was fantastic value and the cocktails and wine were a perfect pairing. Really enjoyed the Cantaloupe Spritz! Everyone enjoyed their steak and chips - raving about the chips! I went with something different and had chicken and baked sweet potato which were both delicious. We were nearly too full for dessert, but I’m really glad we opted to share a few as the peanut butter shortbread was incredible as was the sticky toffee pudding. The round table for six was perfect as we could still speak to everyone at the table. Service was very friendly and attentive even in a very busy restaurant. I was surprised how busy it was on a Tuesday in January but I think that speaks to the high quality of food. Looking forward to our next visit.
We came here during winter discount period. 3 courses for £25.88 (including 12.5% service charge) which was a good value. Their mains were quite good while the starters were even better! Highly recommend the Caesar salad and mushrooms. The service was quick and exceptional.
Everything about this restaurant was fantastic start to finish. Lovely hostess and cloakroom provided. We arrived early for a drink at the bar which was as top quality and I would say value for money as everything else. All food and servers were fantastic, I would definitely come again.

Exceptional steaks, seafood, and cocktails in the heart of Edinburgh.
