We feel so lucky to have found Wildfire during our trip to Edinburgh! The cozy atmosphere with its stone walls drew us in immediately. The food was simply amazing; the Angus steak (sourced from John Gilmour butchers) was cooked to perfection. For starters, the Haggis and the rich, delicious creamy soup (Cullen Skink) are a must-try. Service was very attentive. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Scottish flavors!
Really difficult to review without sounding like a fake review. None of the pictures you see anywhere of the food here cant even get close to how outstanding it actually is. ALL the staff are extremely friendly, very attentive and show the Scottish hospitality at its best. The place itself is is cosy and intimate but is more than capable of hosting larger groups in comfort. By far the standout feature is the food, the steaks are OUTSTANDING, and the accompanying food is perfect. 10/10, 5 stars whichever way you score things Wildfire surpasses it.
Had the most wonderful dinner in Edinburgh 😀 the service was lovely! Demonstrated the service oriented culture of Scotland 👍 The food were great in a marvellous environment. Would have been the frequent go to place for dinner if we live in Edinburgh 😉
Highly recommended! We had a wonderful dinner at Wildfire — the skewer was delicious, the sea bream perfectly cooked, and the local beer really tasty. The atmosphere is warm and cosy, and the service extremely friendly. Definitely worth a visit!
A steak restaurant in a cozy setting serving Scottish beef and seafood. I arrived without reservation but was able to be seated. I had the Cullen skink to start, which is a traditional smoked haddock chowder style fish stew and was delighted by how good it was with the smoked fish flavour really coming through. For my main I had the 12oz Ribeye which is also served with a side salad. When it first arrived I was a little underwhelmed by appearance alone but that opinion would soon change. It was seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare and had an appropriate amount of fat and marbling. I have eaten my fair share of higher end steaks - usually dry-aged ribeye - and I have to admit that this was one of the best tasting steaks I've ever had. The dressing on the side salad was good as well, tasting like it was a raspberry and mustard cider vinaigrette. The service was polite, attentive but not overbearing. My expectations were not that high given that the restaurant is located on a strip that is a bit touristy and the pubs and restaurants presumably cater to visitors staying at nearby hotels, but my expectations were exceeded. I found both the food and the service to be excellent.
