We generally love the train. However, after waiting in a long line along with everyone else, we were left waiting yet for another train after being told this one was full. I was told the wait would be 25 min for the next train. I explained to the conductor that we have someone with a medical condition, and he told me I can go get a refund. I noticed several rows were marked 'reserved' and left completely empty when the train departed.
I was taken back to a moment in time when suddenly I was a kid again - eight years of age - remembering my first train ride at the Glen Casino in Williamsville. It was the best of times! Aside me then was my younger brother and our favorite aunt, Margaret - who’d been a teenager in Buffalo during the glamour days of train travel - before eventually deciding to work in this burgeoning technological industry. Emerging from the time warp, on this day, the train was chock full of parents, children, and other sight-seeing passengers. All, on a railway roadtrip, winding through Houston’s finest leafy park. I was no longer eight years old but instead an adult on what I call the Hermann Park Express. There was familiarity hearing the train wheels clickity-clacking over the tracks, while the conductor sounded his magical horn occasionally, navigating through this wonderland. Sounds, delightful to hear. Mine was an unforgettable treat as it likely was for the others: young and old alike. They were seen smiling and waving towards others strolling through the park. All, were joyful memorable interactions. Are trains from a bygone era? No way, not in Hermann Park! Enjoy!
A small train ride experience with a lot of fun. This small train tour around the park takes around 30 mins, and there are 4 stations people can boarding. Strongly recommend this train ride!
You pay $6 and it's an all day until 6:00 p.m. it has three stops there's a stop to the museum the second stop is by the Carousel and the other stop is by Rice University,, I'm not sure if it's in that order but I do know the first stop is the museum.. it is fun to go out with your little ones, my baby girl and I we enjoyed our day.
The train ride is $7 on weekends and holidays for adults. A good ride around the park for kids and families for about 15-20 min with halts in various locations. People can take ride multiple rides with same ticket within same day. Besides train ride what to say more about Herman park, great place for family time, picnic time, trail walks and good restrooms and parking
