Just moved to the Area and this was the best 1st impression. Other than a NY slice this is definitely one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Great customer service as well, I called in at 9:45 and they still served me fast!

With Forge now gone, I tried a lot of pizza around here in JLS, and unfortunately not a lot of it is better than frozen store bought pizza or the crust is like dry wall, and I was afraid to try Hesher's as I lost hope, maybe pizza just isn't Oakland's thing... But I was very wrong, not only is this better than the once existing Forge, it's great one of my favorites now. The crust is perfect that perfect middle ground of crispy yet not too thick not too thin, the sauce reminds me of Chicago pizza (taste), the cheese stays in it's place, and the toppings are objectively placed. Behind the punk aestethtic and baggies of cheese that look like... well. Is someone in the kitchen who really cares about the product they're putting out there. Literally just trust me on this, if you're looking for good pizza, Hesher's.

We had such a great experience at Hesher’s Pizza & Taproom! While waiting on our to-go order of the Cheese Master regular pizza, we played a round of Uno from their giant game closet—literally a chest with drawers full of all kinds of games. We even finished our game right as the pizza was brought out to our table! The atmosphere is awesome—inviting, laid-back, and fun. Between the pool table, pinball machines, and all the board games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy while hanging out. As for the pizza? Absolutely delicious. The Cheese Master hit the spot, and I loved that they included small sealed packets of red pepper flakes, cheese, and more on the side. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Overall, 5 stars across the board. Great food, great atmosphere, and great people. Highly recommend Hesher’s if you’re looking for a fun spot to relax and enjoy top-quality pizza!

I would say that the pizza was created from Satan himself. It was so good I felt like I was doing something wrong. We got the pepperoni honey pizza and it was almost like Detroit style pizza. I always knew that Detroit would be derived from hell. JK but for real this environment is super interesting and is themed on heavy metal. The beer was focused mostly on ciders and was cool that I could get a flight. I would say that if you are cool with something different and are down with metal, show face here. Pro Tip; I saw a couple bring their first date here. I would maybe not do that. Maybe just your homies and play board games. 7.3/10
