Frank is an excellent repair technician and business guy, not to mention super friendly and helpful! He had a beautiful pair of turntables i brought in fixed up in a few days time for a great price and even helped me pack them up to bring home safely on the subway. Great guy, lots of cool stuff for sale, and of course excellent service. I only trust Frank with my equipment!
Frank is the absolute best. He helped me sort out a solid sound system for my vintage Akai record player. He’s no BS, will not oversell you and will recommend the best quality for your budget. Please support this business, it’s one of a kind 💝💝💝💝
This place has a charming quality with its many vintage electronics. Watch out for their deceptive practices. I bought a retro landline for $40. The phone says ”use for business system only”, to which they promised it would work with a standard phone cable. Turns out it is in fact not compatible with the phone network. I called the shop and they told me to bring it in. I brought it in and they told me to buy a converter. They run for around $800. I bought the phone on the foolish belief that they wouldn’t purposely lie to sway a customer to buy an obsolete POTS phone/paperweight.
Had some issues with my pc not connecting to my monitors and went to get it checked out. Hi-Tech was able to figure out the problem and was able to fix it at a great price! Amazing and fast service and the owner was super nice and helpful.
I brought two classic 70s receivers to Hi-Tech for repair. One was completely non-functioning and the other had a badly distorted sound. In 24 hours they diagnosed the problems and 24 hours after that they were ready for pickup. They gave each one a full re-cap and rebuilt the boards along with a thorough cosmetic restoration. The price, given the amount of work and parts involved was very reasonable. The receivers sound (and look) fantastic. To my knowledge there isn't another old-school electronics repair storefront like this in NYC with this level of service. Highly recommended!
