Great building. Excellent equipment (TechnoGym esp). Good vibes. But the rooms are small and square and feature no sound proofing and no metal buffering. The noise of valve-powered locker doors slamming (rubber or felt pads would help) and metal plates from equipment is too much for me. The new squat rack sends shocking clanging noises through the room -- even the chain dropping is a lot. It's the timbre of the sound as much as its existence. Sadly I probably won’t renew when my 3 month membership expires soon. I don’t have these issues at American Iron and SRAC in Reno. I see others looking around and being bothered too, I’m not the only one. But if you're not sound sensitive at all, it is a really good gym.
The sauna in the men’s room has been out for 3 weeks now with no word on when it will be fixed! We love to use the sauna after all of our workouts so this has been a bummer after just purchasing our passes. Hope to hear some news on the issue!
I like the gym and the facility. The setting is good, ppl were friendly. BUT this is the least inclusive gym I've ever been to. Your options are 1 day pass, 1 week pass, or 4 months. The fact parents can't come in with their kids without paying for a pass themselves is also crazy. This is not climbing culture and it's a bad precedent to set.
First off thank you for this amazing space to recreate indoors! Love the climbing, all the equipment and the sauna! The reason for 3 stars is because of lack in cleanliness especially in the locker rooms, showers and sauna, (need bigger towel bin!), lack of maintenance and construction upkeep, as well as lack of member accountability that tends to lead to all of the above. I am a new member and really enjoy having this gym in our home town and I am very impressed and stoked to finally be a member! Employees have been very helpful and kind. Climbing routes are awesome! Love the diversity! Maybe more employees cruising around doing a bit of quality control could help. Thanks
High Altitude has everything you need! Amazing bouldering area, top-rope climbing walls with auto-belays, and a full set of gym equipment. The staff is super friendly and helpful, lockers are convenient, and they even have showers and a sauna. I absolutely love this place — it’s my second summer training here, and I couldn’t be happier!
